I walked outside filled to the brim with anger and annoyance, ready to send Ryden flying. What I saw when I got outside wasn’t Ryden though. It was what I figured was a demon; this made sense because demons liked to use trickery to draw out their opponents. Demons were tricky little jerks that way. The evidence was plain and clear, he was about my height with a jagged looking sword and obsidian black skin and horns sticking out from his forehead with glowing red eyes that hungered for the suffering of an innocent. I found this rather odd though, seeing as Demons only show up to play when someone or something summoned them. Demons have their own realm outside of space and time where they dwell alone to fight each other and cause trouble without harming anything but each other. “Who summoned you, hells spawn?” I asked conversationally. He didn’t seem too powerful so I saw no reason to be worried. “That is none of your concern, human; come, fight me or I’ll kill innocent people until you do.” The demon replied in an equally conversational tone. He didn’t think much of me either, it seemed. This demon in particular looked like a human with horns sticking out of his head. He seemed rather slender with slicked back black hair and a mischievous smile. The demon looked about my age as well, although who knows how old it really was. That wasn’t very important though, I was about to send this pale skinned nasty back to where ever he was summoned from. Chris looked over at me giving me a questioning look. I could tell he wanted to know if he could take this thing on. A moment later I sensed Megan walk outside along with Alyxander. I looked back at them hoping Alyxander knew something about this demon. “That isn’t a demon you want to be underestimating boys, you’ll be dead in seconds if you do…maybe I should take care of him myself.” Alyxander said with a nervous look on his face. I started to worry a bit seeing as this demon made Alyxander nervous. Alyxander never got nervous over anything; I’d even seen him go toe to toe with an orc soldier without fear. “I’m guessing he’s pretty strong from that look on your face?” I asked. Alyxander nodded in reply. “I’m not so sure you could take him on and survive even if both of you went at him at once…hell, even all three of you couldn’t take him.” Alyxander said. Megans eyes widened and my stomach began doing somersaults. “Man, first it was goblins now its demons, what else is going to go wrong today?” Chris wondered. “Alyxander, who is this guy?” I asked. “He’s the morning stars right hand; Lucifer’s second in command.” Alyxander explained. I and my friend’s jaws dropped. If it was physically possible our jaws would have hit the floor. “Lucifer’s second in command?!?” Megan exclaimed. The demon cackled in what seemed to be excitement. “Yes! My name is Zazael, and I’m going to be the demon that kills the four of you.” The demon stated. This was definitely odd. Not even the nine princes of the hell realm could send they’re minions out of their own realm. Only a ridiculously powerful walker could do something like that.
“I suppose we’ll just have to do this going all or nothing and hope to God that we don’t die while in the process.” I said. Chris and I flashed into our battle gear the same way we had when we fought the goblins. We both took out our swords from their sheathes and went full power. I figured there was going to be a lot of cleaning up to do after this fight was over…if we survived that is. I sensed Megan get serious as well. Chris and I took our stances as Zazael obliterated the magik shield that kept the mansion hidden and safe. The presence of this demon seemed to bring out more power than I had expected seeing as the ground was beginning to crack a bit beneath our feet from all the magik being concentrated into our bodies. Megan floated up into the sky ready to use long ranged attacks to support us any way she could. “Demons draw out the true power of an individual, so if they defeat that individual they have more despair to feed on.” Alyxander said. I knew demons thrived from negative emotions like sadness and despair. “Enough talk! ALL OF YOU DIE!” Zazael roared. He grew to be fifty times the size he was before and turned into a massive beast with leathery wings, razor sharp claws, and teeth that could chomp a hole through just about anything. I was assuming my armor-clothes weren’t going to hold up very well against this guy. Then again, he’s Lucifer’s second in command… anyway, the battle began with Megan sending off the first shot. She sent a powerful bolt of lightning that barely left a mark on the demon. Zazael jumped into the air creating a windstorm with just the beat of his wings and flew up high. He wanted to fight with ranged attacks, which wasn’t exactly our strongest aspect but I was sure we could manage somehow. “Megan, he’s doing ranged attacks, keep on barraging him with attacks!” I yelled. She replied by blasting Zazael with lighting, each bolt stronger than the last. Somehow, he swiped at the bolts before they struck and redirected them elsewhere. “He deflected LIGHTNING?” Chris yelled with a mix of fear and admiration. “Stop admiring and just kill him!” I yelled to Chris. Chris nodded and jumped into the air. Megan sent a massive and concentrated gust of wind to give Chris a boost sending him towards Zazael at a much faster speed. When Chris struck, it was louder than thunder. Zazael wasn’t fazed by Chris’s attack one bit. Chris continued slicing away with his blade and dodging Zazael by manipulating the wind. “I’m surprised we’re just able to make things up on the spot like this… I’ve never been able to just make things happen as we are right now.” I said to myself. Megan sent a huge blast of pure energy at Zazael. A second before the ball of energy connected with Zazael’s face Chris dodged faster than my eyes could keep track of. When the magik hit him his head jerked back a bit as if he were just punched really hard in the face. I realized I was just standing around when I could be helping my friends. “Damn I’m an idiot sometimes…” I said to myself. I ran over to Alyxander while dodging a massive ball of flames that was suddenly thrown down at me from the sky. The only problem was, it wasn’t actually a fireball, it was Chris who was now lying in a crater made from the impact. I felt a surge of anger rush through me. “Alyx, can you ground that guy?” I asked. The old walker stared at me for a moment and then a light bulb seemed to go on in his head. “Why didn’t I think of that sooner…?” Alyxander wondered. I never called him Alyx but when I did, you knew things were serious and I didn’t have time to think much. Alyx sent blasts of magic that looked like glowing lines flying through the air. Zazael dodged but barely got his right wing nicked. We had to force him to get smaller and onto the ground or we could never win.
