It was a few weeks after Chris almost got his soul stolen when we were finally ready to get moving to start our adventure. We had to find Laciel and we had to do it quickly. It was early morning and I’d gained a considerable amount of magik back in our down time. I was about half-way, so magik was once again an option. “Come on guys, lets get a move on!” I yelled. Megan and Chris walked down the stairs, each with a bag of their own belongings. I wasn’t sure why, mostly because they could just summon any of their belongings with magik if they needed something. “Alright, we’re good to go!” Megan exclaimed. We were all pretty excited to go on this adventure because we’d all wanted to see things away from home. Megan smiled on me as she jumped on her pure white coated horse. The horse whinnied in anticipation. “Looks like they’re ready to go too, huh?” Chris said. Chris jumped on his black coated horse and looked down at me. “Well? lets go!” He said. I smiled at my friends and jumped on my horse. She was brown with a white mane, unlike the other two horses which were one color. I stroked my horses neck gently and asked if she was ready to go. She whinnied happily as if she understood me. “Alright then, our adventure begins!” I exclaimed. I wished that our adventure was happening under better circumstances, but took what I could get. We traveled for awhile and ended up in Urkuutz in the early evening. As we rode into town we watched the sun set. “I like this little town, it’s nice and cozy.” Chris said. We rode to the local tavern which my little goblin friend ran.
We walked through the door and closed it. The customers were already flowing in to drink and be merry. “Ravnik!” I called out. The little goblin poked his head above the bar and invited us over. “Hello my friend, how have you been since that horde invaded?” I asked. I ordered a small mug of ale. “Oh fine, fine; Everything has been repaired successfully since then and business has been alright due to winter arriving.” He replied. I sipped my ale and felt myself warm up. “What brings you here?” Ravnik asked. I looked at the little goblin and smiled. “Actually, we need a room or two if you can spare them; We’re going on an adventure and we’re here for the night.” I replied. I saw Ravniks eyes light up like the lanterns set around his little tavern. “And just where are you headed?” He asked. “We’re going to find...ah...well...somebody who is less than friendly.” I replied. I gave him a serious look so he wouldn’t push too much further with questions. “Has a guy with ghostly white hair and dark eyes come through here recently?” Chris asked. I almost choked on my ale and looked over at him. “Well actually, yes; The bastard said his name was Laciel, just before he started a rather large bar fight with all of the gentlemen in here...The coward slipped out during all the fighting unnoticed and left town immediately after.” Ravnik replied in a hushed tone. I nodded. “He isn’t a coward, he just felt like causing trouble...he is a very, very bad walker...or at least I think he’s a walker.” I explained. “Well, whatever he is, if you find him then smack him around a few times for me; I had to clean up after his mess all by myself AND I had to go bother some of the town guards in the middle of the night to drag out the unconscious customers!” He exclaimed in a frustrated tone. “I’ll be sure to do that.” Chris replied. I looked over at Chris then sipped my ale some more. “I almost forgot, where’s Alyxander?” Ravnik asked. Chris looked down into his mug and Megan in to her wine glass as if to disregard his question completely. I sighed and decided I should reply for them. “We ditched him and left a note saying we wanted to leave him behind for his own safety...he’s old and needs to spend his time being happy, not fighting some idiot who wants to destroy everything just for the fun of it.” I explained. “Its the first time we’ve done something like this without him…” Megan said quietly. Ravnik looked at Chris and I, then to Megan. “Its okay young lady, you're in good hands with these two.” Ravnik said reassuringly.
Moments later, something made a large crash. I looked around and saw a table flipped over and four men fighting each other. The other customers sat and Cheered for the drunken idiots fighting. I felt bad for Ravnik and looked at him sympathetically. He sighed and started to get angry. “Don’t worry my friend, I’ll fix all that for you and get them out of here.” I said. He relaxed a bit as I put my mug down and got up. “Now then, gentlemen! I think it’s time you all leave this fine establishment before you cause any more damage!” I said loudly. The four men were tall and beefy. They were the type of guys that short guys like me were supposed to be intimidated by. They continued fighting as if I hadn’t said anything. I enhanced my body with what magik I had recovered enough to where I could knock all four of them out with ease. I sprinted into the fray and punched one of the men square in the jaw, knocking him out cold. The other three attacked me but I caught both their fists and crushed them quickly. Afterwards, I spun around and knocked one of the others out with one nasty right hook. “Two down, two to go; You guys sure you want to keep going or would you like to leave peacefully and drag out these two gents right here?” I asked in a kind voice. The two drunks attacked me at once and I once again caught their fists. This time, I decided to pull them in and quickly jab them both with my palms. I broke their noses and followed up by punching them both in the face quickly after the jab. “Chris, fix the damage while I drag these boys outta here, would you?” I asked as I began dragging unconscious bodies outside the door. A few nearby guards ran up and asked me what happened with threatening looks. “Nothing much; These guys had too much to drink and started causing trouble for other customers and the owner.” I explained. They wondered how the drunks got unconscious and I explained that I took care of them myself. I asked politely if the guards could get the men out of here and they agreed but asked if I could refrain from fighting while in town limits. I agreed and went back to my drink.
By this time, Chris had fixed all the damage with his magik and sat down as well. “Thanks Devin, that would have gotten ugly if we just let them rampage.” Ravnik said. I shrugged and sipped my ale. “Don’t mention it, I had a bit of fun.” I replied. Ravnik had decided that our rooms would be free in return for clearing the violent drunks from his tavern. I thanked him, finished my drink, and went to bed in my free room upstairs from the tavern area. “What do we do tomorrow?” Chris asked as he walked in a while later. I layed in bed and stared at the ceiling in thought. “I’m not really sure, but… We’ll figure something out.” I replied. Not too long after Chris had walked in, Megan had entered the room as well. I explained to Megan that we all needed to come up with ideas relating to the matter of tracking Laciel. “We could look for some sort of tracking spell?” Megan suggested. “We could try that I suppose.” Chris replied. “What if he has some sort of freaky mojo going on so we can’t find him that way?” I asked. They looked at me and got silent for awhile. “Well...I don’t know what you two plan on doing but...turn around.” Megan said. I looked at her in confusion. “Turn around? Why should I turn around?” I asked. Megan raised her eyebrows at me. “This is a one room deal and I’d like to get into my night clothes, so turn around; I’ll freeze you and break you into tiny pieces if you peek.” She replied. Chris and I immediately turned our backs to her. Chris looked at me as to say “Should we...should we risk it?”. I looked at him seriously and shook my head vigorously. I was not fond of the idea of being in a thousand tiny pieces. He began to look genuinely disappointed, which I couldn’t help but laugh at. “Your ridiculous…” I said to him as I continued to laugh.
“You can turn around now.” Megan said. We turned back and She was wearing a spaghetti strap and silky looking shorts, all of which were turqoise. “Those...those don’t look like clothes from this world...how did you get them?” I asked. She smiled and created a bed out of nowhere with a snap of her fingers. She layed in it and went to sleep without anwsering my question. “I guess she’s been on a few adventures of her own, huh?” I asked Chris quietly. “I don’t know, I guess so.” He replied. “She looks kinda cute though…” Chris said. I looked at him and rolled my eyes. “Just shut up and go to bed you creepy little weirdo.” I replied light heartedly. I couldn’t keep myself from laughing at how ridiculous Chris could be sometimes. I layed in bed for about an hour as Chris silently sat in his practicing some sorts of magik. I was about to turn over and ask what he was working on when sleep decided to pull me into its arms and keep hold of me. I began to dream about our adventure, some parts good and some parts...well...not so good. The only thing I knew was I was excited to continue.
