The Beating

    Jimin sighed after a long day in college. He was only going because his parents wanted him to bring a degree home so they could brag about how amazing Jimin was to their relatives.
    His homework was piled up in his dorm room before he got dressed into his uniform and set out to work his shift. He knew he'd have a ton of stress by the time he goes home.
    His shift ends at 8:00 and judging by the amount of homework he gets daily, it's going to take him at least 2 hours to complete it all on time.... that is if he doesn't procrastinate.
    To him, the shift felt like forever and he couldn't wait until it was all over. With each tick the clock made, the more he died inside. The two gruesome hours finished with Jimin mentally drained and unmotivated to face his piles of homework waiting for him at his dorm.
    As he left to go back to his dorm, he waved to his friend Kim Yugyeom who was a first year and studied in the same major. They did their not-so-secret handshake in the middle of the campus and wished each other good luck on their overwhelming amount of homework.
    The next 2 hours was spent on rushing through his work and taking 2 minute breaks every 20 minutes to maintain his sanity. By the time he finished his homework, he felt as if a truck filled with homework had hit him and he was both mentally and physically drained.
    He somehow managed to finish his homework on time without procrasinating like he usually does. He thought he needed a walk outside the campus to refresh his mind and make him less drained. He always had 10 minute walks when he managed to finish his homework on time, which sadly is pretty rare.
    He walked outside, refreshing his mind and wandered without paying attention while being in his own little world. He was brought back to reality by a scream for help and someone grunting in pain.
    He looked around frantically, until he finally saw Kim Yugyeom being beaten around by 5 men. They all looked older than him and they were quite well built.
    Jimin rushed to help Yugyeom, knowing he would likely get hurt as well.
    "Why are you hurting him?! What has he ever done to you?" He screamed while doing the best he could to help Yugyeom.
    One of the men pulled out a gun and brought it to Jimin's head.
    "Tell me what your name is. If you try resisting at all, you'll be killed along with your little friend here. We'll let you both get away if you promise to keep your mouth shut and never speak of this incident again." He said in a threatening tone.
    "P-p-park Jimin... you promise you'll let us free right? If not, can you at least lock us up somewhere instead of killing us?" Jimin asked, obviously frightened.
    The man put his gun away and signaled the other gang members with some kind of secret hand gesture.
    "We'll come back here tomorrow. Our boss sent us here to find you. You better meet us here tomorrow or there will be bloodshed." He threatened.
    He pointed to Yugyeom, "you there. Go back to your dorm and never speak of this again. If you do, you're going to find yourself six feet under, you understand?"
    Yugyeom slightly nodded, leaving Jimin behind and running back to his dorm as if his life depended on it.
    The 5 gang members left soon after, leaving Jimin there confused with his thoughts running wild. He lost track of time and was eventually found by one of the teachers outside of the dorm while it was past curfew.
    He was given a warning before being sent back to his dorm where he was safe.
    That night, Jimin couldn't sleep. He kept on thinking about the beating and why they were after him. Eventually he fell asleep for only a few hours. He knew the next day would be terribly exhausting.
