Lyndsey's POV:
I set my phone down and ran downstairs to open the door. I smiled when I saw she already let herself in. Like old times. "Hey Tay!" (Pic of Tay on side)
She looked up to me and smiled, "Hey. Hope you don't mind the door was unlocked so I came on in."
I shook my head, "Don't mind at all."
Her smile grew, "Your room upstairs?" I nodded and we both ran up the stairs to my room. We went in and I closed the door. She sat on my bed and kicked off her shoes.
"Spill." she demanded. I sat in my cushioned, desk chair and sighed. "It's Jason."
She shook her head, "Girl you've been in town for almost a week and you already have boy problems."
I sighed, "Yeah... I know."
'Well? Give me details."
I explained how he didn't recognize me at the first of choir. I went on to explain how at the end I saw him flirting with a girl. Taylen snickered at that, "Typical Jason." I told her of our short conversation and how he was rude. I called him out and than I thought he was about to kiss me when he remembered me at hated himself for it. I finished off by telling her about him texting me and apologizing.
We sat in silence for a while when Taylen finally made a noise, "Hmm.... Interesting. Well... He has changed a lot since you left. He thought more for himself and started flirting with every girl he sees. All the girls are wrapped around his finger! He's even more full of himself now. And to top it off he always falls silent and looks like a lost puppy each time Deen or I mention you."
I felt happy and sad at the same time. Jason had become worse when left, and he gets sad each time I'm mentioned. I'm sad because without me he's a jerk, but I'm happy because I know he cares about me and I'm apart of him. I'm like his conscious. That made me smile. Why? I don't even know. Don't ask.
Taylen noticed my silence, "You alright?"
My eyes widen as I looked away from my lap and to her eyes, "Mm?"
"You went silent."
I shook my head, "No... I mean yes I'm fine."
She raised an eyebrow, "You sure?'
I nodded than shook my head and shrugged, "I don't know..."
Her eyebrow went down and she laid down on my bed, "Okay... So... how are you doing with all this? Moving back and all?" I shrugged even though I knew she couldn't see me. "You know. He never forgot about you. He still has feelings for you." she stated.
I sat up straighter, "Really? Didn't seem that way today."
Taylen took out her phone and started playing with it, "When Deen told Jason you moved back he just denied it. He didn't want you to come back because he wasn't fully over you yet. He promised himself the day you left that he would be over you by the time you guys met again."
"He's had three years."
"And he's still not over you. That's how much he cared about you."
"Huh..." I thought about that. if he cared about that much than how come he didn't remember me? It did however answer why he never text me. He wanted to move on and it's hard to do that when we are texting all the time. "Taylen can I ask you something?'
She nodded and put her phone down so she could look at me, "Anything."
"If Jason cared about me that much how come he didn't recognize me?"
She shrugged, "I was wondering that too. I can't figure it out."
I slumped into my chair and slowly spun it around a couple of times. Boys are confusing.

Jason's POV:
Deen and I were out in my backyard passing my football. It was like our usual hangouts until he said this.
"So have you seen Lyndsey yet?"
I groaned and threw my football harder than the rest of the times. Deen had to step back a bit to catch it. When I didn't answer Deen asked again.
"Have you?"
I nodded, "Yeah."
"How was it?" he passed the football back.
"She called me a bitch."
"Oh! That's tough!"
I nodded again, "Yeah."
"What did you do to her?"
"You sure do ask a lot of questions."
Deen smiled, "Hey its what I do."
I rolled my eyes.
"So what did you do?" he asked again.
"I was late like usual to choir and I didn't recognize her so I asked who she was before she answered Mrs. Kowner told me to go change. I guess that hurt her in so kind of way and after choir she asked my name and I called her a waist of time."
"Dude!" Deen interrupted, "You do not do that to a girl!"
I ignored him and continued, "She called me out and I was about to yell back when I realized who she was so I backed off, and walked away."
Deen shook his head, "Worst welcome back ever!"
I threw my football the other way and walked inside. I was angry at myself and I didn't want to take it out on Deen.
