To our luck, Ashley has been taken away from us by Saddler again. It is harder for me to take care of Leon and myself while fighting. He's lucky that he has no injuries as a wolf and he likes to stay in that form as not to worry me. His furry body flashes past me as I climb up the ladder. I look up and see him looking down upon me. I pull myself up and take my handgun out of its holster, ready to fight.
I begin walking across the platform, and I start to develop the feeling of someone, not just Leon, watching from behind. I whirl myself around and ready my gun. Above, I can hear something, or someone, moving around. A figure drops from above with a silver knife. I move out of the way, but I'm not fast enough. The blade catches my cheek and draws blood. I wipe the blood away with ease.
"Been a long time, comrade," the figure says, his voice raspy and harsh.
"Krauser!" Leon snarls, stomping a paw on the metal platform.
"I died in a crash two years ago..Is that what they told you?" Krauser asks, twirling his knife around in his fingers. He and Leon begin circling each other, and I cower away. Leon seems to know this guy, and he looks even stronger than me. I better keep out of their fight.
"You're the one who kidnapped Ashley!" Leon exclaims.
"You catch on quick," Krauser retorts. "After all, you and I both know where we come from."
Krauser then takes a swing at Leon, who back flips and pushes Krauser away with his back paws as he lands. Krauser has dropped his knife when Leon pushed him, making him vulnerable. I toss my knife to Leon and he catches it in his mouth.
"What do you want?" Leon demands harshly through barred teeth.
"The sample Saddler developed, that's all," Krauser replies.
"Leave Ashley out of this!" Pleads Leon, his voice full of hatred and bloodlust.
Krauser throws a barrel at Leon, who quickly kicks it away with his back leg. He flips in the air and lands. Then, Krauser holds his knife combat-ready, prepared for any of Leon's attacks. I watch carefully as Leon jumps in the air. He twirls and flips while still in the air. He lands softly behind Krauser and, as he spins away as an attempt to dodge Leon's attack, Leon easily strikes him across the chest.
Angry, Krauser kicks Leon to the ground. "All for Umbrella's sake. Enough talk, die comrade!" He shouts, bringing the knife down to Leon's neck. Leon holds and pushes the knife away with his paws, but Krauser pushes harder.
As if on cue, a gunshot roars through the boilder room and Krauser's knife is knocked out of his hands. Everyone looks for the owner of the gunshot, and Ada appears on a high ledge.
"Well, if it isn't the bitch in the red dress," Krauser mutters.
"It looks like we have the upper hand here," says Ada smoothly.
Krauser flips onto a nearby ledge above us. "You may be able to prolong your life, but it isn't like you can escape your inevitable death, is it, Leon?"
And with that, Krauser runs off. Ada hops down from the ledge and I run over to Leon. I take my knife back and slide it into its scabbard.
"You knew each other?" Ada asks Leon.
"More or less," answers Leon. "Maybe it's about time you tell me why you're here?"
As Ada walks past us, she answers, "Maybe some other time." She hops over the platform we are on and Leon plops himself down, sighing. I stroke his fur as he licks the blood off of my cheek.
"What a reunion with an old friend, huh? We used to be colleagues..." says Leon.
"Come on, sweetie. We gotta get moving. We can talk later," I tell him.
"You're starting to sound like me." He says as we jump off of the platform.
"Whatever you say, wolf boy." I laugh, pulling my handgun out of its holster.
"When is just going to give up?" I mutter as I run through the ruins that Krauser has dragged us through.
Leon and I have split up so we could possibly ambush Krauser, but I have a feeling that he knows our plan. We have to hope for the best, and having faith leads to victory. My brother always tells me not to be afraid of anything, only because fear gets you killed. Man, I should really stop listening to him. All these quotes are making my head hurt.
However, I take my brother's advice and apply it to my brain, repeating it over and over again in my head. I try not to be afraid of whatever lurks around the corner. There's no telling what kind of creature Krauser got to help kill us.
I peek around the corner, seeing nothing there. I remember that Krauser has hidden three insignias throughout the ruins that go to a door Leon and I have to use to get out of here. The problem is, he has one of them.
