The limo rattled as it passed by a ditch, jolting me awake. I pressed myself against the black leather seat taking in my surroundings.
"Sorry! I don't own a drivers license!", shouted Axiel from the driver's seat looking back at me.
"Well staying focus on the road is the most important thing on the driving test!", I yelled back nervously. This guy was going to kill me instead of those vampires. He chuckled and turned his head back listening to my advice.
"Just ignore him, honey. He might suck at driving but he's the best fighter under Nolan", Darma reassured me.
Like that will help.
"I'm so happy you're coming to the castle. Mary has been so excited to see you. Just like everyone in the house", she laughed excitedly.
"I missed them too," I said leaning on her shoulder. "I also missed having homemade meals by you ", I moaned remembering the taste.
"I think you're going to meet my little friend sooner than I planned!", shouted Axiel once again. My face went beet red.
Is that all he thinks about?
"Stop embarrassing her! She isn't like you but a pure and innocent girl", Darma nodded proudly. She beamed towards me caressing my face.
She was right in some part. I wasn't as perverted as that vampire Axiel. I nodded back at Darma agreeing with her.
Axiel quickly turned around with shock in his eyes. "I am offended you do not believe in my innocence Darma", he said. I giggled in amusement. "At least I don't beat up human girls like Miss Eira"
My smile fell. How did he know about that!?
"Eira! Who did you-"
"Ah were here!", I ignored her and pushed my self against the limo's window. I could hear Axiel evil laugh. What a jerk.
We stopped at a huge brick wall that could be mistaken for the Great Wall of China. The elegant gates opened by a man at the post.
The wide road was framed by millions of tall trees. It took us almost 30 minutes of traveling through the driveway till the castle came to view.
The castle called my body as if it was mine. It felt so familiar even though it was my first time coming here.
The palace was bigger than any other building I've seen so far. It was built in the center of high mountains while waterfalls were cascading down from them. Beautiful gardens adorned every inch while elegantly stone bridges were arranged to perfection. I felt I had stepped into a fairy tale book.
"Arovn, the very first king of all vampires built this place", Darma said feeding my curiosity. "He built it for his wife. His wife and he design the whole palace by hand and didn't finish till hundreds of years later. Sadly they never got to use it. That's why the castle was nicknamed Ayánn, meaning the love God has for man". She scooted up to my window taking in the beautiful castle view. "Like God, Arovn was the creator of his wife and loved her to death, literally".
How sad. Who knew this perfect castle had such a sad story. My heart ached for both the lovers even though I did not know the details. However, I can tell they both loved each other very much by the attention each detail was given to their home at one point.
The car came to a stop making my heart beat faster. It was time I'd see Nolan again after 5 years. I doubt he'd want to see me. I really didn't want to come anyways but I really didn't want to get killed either.
"Miss Eira", Axiel announced opening my door. I stepped out and felt the warm breeze on my skin.
It smells salty.
