Why Am I Like This?

So Gabbie, Bailee, and I are walking on the bus ramp going to our friends by the school entrance this morning and some kid who's in drama with Gabbie asked me if I was single. I don't know this kid but you would assume I would be normal and say yes but you see, that's not what happened.
My awkward ass said no.
And I didn't even mean to! It just slipped out and um oops? I meant to say yes but like that's not what happened.
So you know me and my tendency to overreact about literally everything and so now I'm currently in 3rd period rethinking my life decisions.
Please send help.
