grayson - saturday night
i pull into the parking lot and park my car, kiara gets out right away and walks over to the swings. i decide to follow her, sitting on the swing right beside her. she rests her head against the chain of the swing, slightly rocking back and forth.
"he hit me," she says breaking the silence.
her statement makes my blood boil. for what reason? i don't know. i puff my cheeks up and blow the air out.
"why?" i ask, curious. her life doesn't seem like that, actually her life seems anything but that.
"because he can," she replies dryly.
"well he shouldn't touch you," i blurt as her eyes darts in my direction.
"i shouldn't even be telling you this," she shakes her head.
she goes to walk away but i pull her back down. she instantly stands up and i stand up along with her.
"i know i was this bitch a long time ago but that's not the real me," she says between quiet sobs you can tell she's been trying to hold in. "you can't judge a book by it's cover."
i look at her as if she was a whole different person. "why not?"
"because you haven't even read one page in."
"then let me," i say grabbing her hand and pulling her closer to me.
she puts her hand on my chest to keep me back. "grayson, you don't want me to let you in."
"i do though," i argue back.
kiara
"i do though," he says in return.
i shake my head and chuckle a little. "you don't know how shitty and messed up my life is. everything is just for show! my parents are assholes who don't actually love each other. my mom's currently in bali fucking, only god knows, how many men."
he looks taken aback by my words. "it can't be that bad."
i shake my head, a scoff leaving my lips. "it is and you have no idea."
he grabs my hand and i pull it away with an innocent smile.
"i should go," i say backing away and walking towards the sidewalk.
"no you should come with me," grayson says catching up with me. "i know you don't want to go back home."
"grayson, seriously, i'll be fine," i say trying to convince myself more than him, although the other side of me wants to go with him.
"i'm not taking no for an answer," he replies grabbing my hand and pulling me to his car.
i groan and try to snatch my hand from his but his grip is too strong.
"stop trying to fight me, kiara," he says, chuckling at my struggling.
he sits me in the passenger side and shuts my door before i can get out. he makes his way over to his side, smiling to himself. he climbs in and starts his car up, pulling out and driving in the direction of his house.
we pull up to a tan and brick house, parking the car in the driveway. grayson gets out but i just sit there. he notices and turns around, clearly huffing and puffing at my stubbornness. he swings my door open and pops his head in.
"you coming or what?" he asks annoyed.
i smirk. "only if you give me a piggyback ride."
he turns around and bends over just enough for me to stand up and jump on his back. his hands grip onto the backs of my thighs, making sure i don't fall. i giggle and he shakes his head.
