kiara - sunday morning
my eye lids flutter open. they widen almost immediately when grayson's face is inches from mine. his mouth parted slightly and his cheek squished against his pillow.
my breathing picks up when i feel his arms wrapped around me, his hand resting on my stomach. i slow my breathing and rest my head on the pillow, turning to face him.
i delicately put my hand on his cheek, caressing down his jawline as i stare at his flawless face.
his eyelids slowly open and a swarm of butterflies release into my stomach.
fuck. no. go away.
he smiles lightly and i can't help but blush. i quickly hide it by putting my face in the pillow and groaning.
he chuckles and pulls me closer to him. "how's your cheek?"
i shrug my shoulders. the smile that once played on my face leaving. "i'm fine."
he tucks a strand of hair behind my ear and leans in, kissing my cheek softly.
"thank you, grayson," i say referring to last night.
he nods his head with a grin. "i'm not always this nice, pelton."
i roll my eyes at his sarcasm and roll over, reaching for my phone. the time reads 9:47 and i sigh.
"i should probably get going," i say standing up and pulling my shirt down quickly to hide my butt.
i walk over to my pile of clothes and pick my pants up, pulling them onto my legs. grayson intently watches me and i go to remove my shirt but almost immediately stop.
"close your eyes," i say smirking at grayson.
he rolls his eyes and then closes them, placing his hand over his closed eyelids.
"thank you," i mumble before pulling my shirt off.
he hums in response and a few seconds later he opens his eyes. luckily i'm already changed and presentable.
"i'll take you home," he says standing up and putting a shirt on.
he slips his feet into his slides, then grabs my hand and pulls me down the stairs towards the front door. i climb in the passenger side and he turns the car on, the radio automatically turning on as well.
the music puts me in my head and i attempt to drown out all the thoughts that consume me. within a few minutes all the memories flood back when grayson pulls into my driveway.
my father's car sit in driveway and the garage is open revealing my mom's bmw.
"great. what the fuck is she doing home?" i mumble as i unbuckle.
"you sure you're gonna be okay?" grayson asks as i go to get out.
"yes," i reply with a weak smile, hoping to convince him.
"just call me if you need anything," his words flow out like water.
i smile again before shutting the door and walking up the sidewalk towards my house. the wooden door opens just as i am reaching for the handle. i hang my head low.
"kiara," my mother's voice rings in my ears.
"why are you home so early?" i ask attitude laced in my voice.
"your father and i have something to talk to you about. it's been in the discussion for a few years now," she says, my curiosity spiking.
"um, okay, what is it?" i ask preparing myself for disappointment.
"go clean yourself up, you smell like death," she replies avoiding my question and walking away.
i scoff and walk upstairs toward my bedroom. i grab my towels and then strip out of my clothes, shutting the bathroom door once i'm in.
the hot water washes away the dirtiness from my body. i lather the soap up in my hair and let it sit while i smear body wash all over me.
i wash all the soap off and get out of the shower drying my body off with one of the towels. i use the other one to dry my hair.
i walk back into my bedroom and into my closet.
"kiara!" my mom's voice yells up the staircase.
i groan and throw a shirt on. "what?!"
"hurry the fuck up!" she snaps making me roll my eyes.
"fuck off," i mumble before descending the staircase.
"what was that?" my dad asks just as i reach the bottom.
"nothing."
"well, follow me into the office, now," he says directing my attention to the closed office doors.
i turn on my heel and head towards the office. he opens the door for me and i walk in, not noticing the boy who sits at the far end of the room. i plop down on the couch and then my eyes land on him.
he runs a hand through his blonde curly hair as his chocolate brown eyes stare me up and down.
who the fuck is he?
my mother comes in the office and sits opposite of me in an armchair while my father sits beside her.
"they should be here any minute," my mother says checking her phone.
who's they?
