Once again, Randhir was tied and kept in the store room. Two long days passed, yet he remained a captive. On the third day, as he was preparing to check on Kishore, he hesitated. There was something he wanted to ask Sanyukta, but fear held him back. She noticed his hesitation immediately.
S: "Doctor, keh bhi de. Tane ke kahna hai, ya arzi likhe doun?"
R: "Wo... woh..." he stammered.
Sanyukta raised an eyebrow and gestured for him to continue. Gathering his courage, Randhir took a deep breath.
R: "Woh... do din se main ne apni family se baat nahi ki. Woh worried ho gaye honge... toh kya main..."
(Hope glimmered in his eyes, silently pleading that she would allow him to talk to his parents.)
S: "Ab tu maare bapu ka khayal rakh raha se... itna toh banta se. Bapu ke checkup ke baad kar liyo."
A relieved smile spread across Randhir's face. He checked Kishore carefully and observed that he was improving steadily.
Sanyukta handed him her phone. Randhir dialed his mother's number. After a single ring, her familiar voice answered:
R.M: "G kon?"
R: "Maa, main Randhir."
R.M: "Beta, tu kaisa hai? Do din se phone kyun nahi utha raha?"
Randhir gulped, then looked at Sanyukta and smiled reassuringly.
R: "Maa, woh... mera phone kho gaya tha isliye aapse baat nahi kar paya. Tension ki koi baat nahi hai."
Sanyukta froze, surprised that he hadn't let slip even a hint that he was in danger.
R.M: "Aur sab kaisa ja raha hai?"
R: (smiling, glancing at Sanyukta) "Maa, sab bohot acha ja raha hai yahan. Sab log bohot ache aur helpful bhi hai."
They spoke for a few minutes. When the conversation ended, Randhir handed the phone back to Sanyukta.
He chipped a soft, grateful, "Thank you," accompanied by a small smile.
Sanyukta was stunned. Despite being her captive, despite everything, he remained calm, positive, and composed.
Randhir extended his hand toward her.
R: "Band di jiye dubara."
Sanyukta just stared at him, her dark eyes fixed on his without blinking. For the first time, the audacity and calmness of this gentle doctor seemed to intrigue her.
Thank you.
Sorry for crap update.
Because of study pressure I am not able to manage time to write any story. I even don't know that I will be able to complete this story at time or not.
