Sanyukta couldn't digest his behavior. The audacity, the calm politeness—it was unlike anyone she had ever met. Randhir blinked his fingers gently in front of her and said,
R: "Band di jiye." (politely)
For the first time, Sanyukta felt a strange restraint. She didn't want to be ruthless toward someone. Clearing her throat, she spoke softly,
S: "Doctor, tu maare bapu ke liye itna kara se, toh maara bhi farz se ke hum tera khayal rakhe."
Randhir blinked, confused by her sudden change in behavior.
S: "Toh ab hum tarahe ko band kar ke na rakhain gaye, balke mehman ki tarah rahega tu, doctor."
R: "G..." he replied, a small smile tugging at his lips.
Later, Randhir was given a proper room. The furniture was neat, the room well-maintained, with fresh fruits and water laid out on the table. He smiled faintly. Perhaps she wasn't entirely cruel—but then, he remembered the police inspector she had killed. Yet again, his thoughts drifted to her dark brown eyes, and the memory of them captivated him.
Meanwhile, Sanyukta sat on the sofa, lost in thought. Her brothers entered, and Parth couldn't hold back.
P: "Sanyukta, main ki sun raha... tune us choraye ko kamra diya se? Bhala kyun?"
S: "Bhai, baat simple si hai. Jab woh bapu ko theek kara se, toh hume bhi uska khayal rakhna chahiye."
P: "Phir bhi—"
S: (cutting him off) "Bhai, kuch na karega. Tu ghandi tension na le. Sab maare control mein hai."
Parth nodded silently. He knew Sanyukta never made a wrong decision when it mattered.
That night, Sanyukta lay awake, her mind restless. Why had she done all this for Randhir? Was it simply because he was her father's doctor, or was there something about him, about his behavior today, that had touched her? She shook her head, trying to banish the thought, and finally closed her eyes.
Far away, Randhir too lay awake, lost in his own thoughts. Who was she really? The girl who had killed the police inspector, or the girl who had helped her father today? The contradictions of her nature kept him both anxious and mesmerized.
Thank you.
Again sorry for a crap update.
