The next day, Randhir checked on Kishore again. He adjusted his medicines and reassured the family that their father was recovering well. Relief and happiness spread across their faces, bringing a small smile to Randhir's lips.
In the evening, as he walked through the garden, Sanyukta approached him.
S: "Doctor, ithe kya kar raha hai?"
R: "Bas... thalne ka maan toh agaya."
S: "Aey doctor, dhanye waad tarah!"
Her tone was authoritative, yet playful. Randhir couldn't help but smile.
S: "Doctor, tu kuch ziada hi khush nai rehta se?" she asked, scrutinizing him.
R: "Haan."
He smiled again, shyly.
Suddenly, Sanyukta grabbed his collar and pulled him closer.
S: "Danth andar, doctor."
Randhir gulped, nodding in compliance.
S: "Yeh hui na, doctor baat."
She released him, a small smirk playing on her lips.
S: "Chal, ab main tere sath thehalti hoon. Tane koi dikhat toh na?"
R: He shook his head slightly, signaling no.
They began walking. Sanyukta dominated the conversation, her tone confident and commanding, while Randhir nodded along or replied softly with a "G."
Inside her mind, Sanyukta couldn't understand herself: "Main is doctor ke pass bar bar kyu ari se? Iska behavior mane kisi taraf keech raha se... mane iske sath waqt bethane ka dil kar raha hai. Pehle toh aisa kabhi na hoya."
After some time, her brother Abhimanyu appeared.
A: "Didi, is area ka commissioner ane wala se, police inspector ki hatya ke baare mein baatne karne."
S: "Chal chote... commissioner sahb ki khatir dari karni hai."
She smirked confidently.
Randhir's mind immediately flashed back to the brutality he had witnessed. His lips tightened, and a frown creased his forehead.
Sanyukta noticed him and, with a casual glance, said,
S: "Chal, doctor... ab main chalti hoon."
Randhir didn't respond. His thoughts were still tangled in the violent memory of her actions.
Sanyukta walked away with her brother, leaving Randhir standing in the garden, trying to absorb everything that had just unfolded.
Thank you!
