Consequences

Marinette/Ladybugs POV

Adrien and I detransform in an alley by my house before walking into the bakery.

"Marinette, Adrien, how was school?" My mom asks as we pass her.

"Good." I say before grabbing Adrien's hand and running with him up to my room. "Alya will probably be here any minute now." I say sitting down on my chaise. Adrien joins me and wraps his arms around me. I lean into him and we stay like that for a minute just sitting in silence. Too soon my trap door slams open and Alya comes into the room squealing.

"Marinette! You won't believe what happened!" She pretty much yells at me.

"What happened?" I ask.

"Ladybug and Chat Noir are dating! After the Akuma battle they kissed and when I asked them if they were dating Ladybug said 'yes'! It finally happened." Alya squeals.

"That's amazing!" I say and Alya actually looks at me for the first time since walking in. Her eyes trail from me to Adrien and back to me. She glares at me clearly saying, 'you better not lie to me'.

"Explain," She says pointing to me and Adrien.

"Well, funny story, hehe, I tried to call Adrien to ask him on a date to the movies, but it went to voicemail. I kind of panicked and told him I liked him and called him hot stuff again. Except for this time I couldn't delete the voicemail before he listened to it." I say trying my best to make the lie convincing.

"Then I called her back and told her I liked her too," Adrien adds on.

"We went to the movies," I say improvising.

"And I asked her if she wanted to be my girlfriend," Adrien finishes following along.

"What am I going to do with you, girl. Well at least it worked out well. You guys are so cute together, but I already knew you would," She squeals before gasping, "I need to go get the Adrinette t-shirts I made! See you guys tomorrow at school." She says hurrying out of my trap door. Adrien and I look at each other before bursting out laughing. Our laughing fit is interrupted by both of our phones chiming. I grab my phone and see a text from Alix.

Alix's Texts Marinette's Texts

Meet at the park NOW!

Ok, what's up?

Don't 'what's up' me just get to the park!

Ok, yeesh, I'm on my way

Good

"Hey Adrien, I have to go to the park, Alix wants me to meet her and she seems really mad so I should probably do what she says." I say.

"Ok, I'll come with you. Kim just texted saying to meet him at the park too, he seemed really angry." He says. We walk out of my room and to the park hand in hand. When we get there Alix grabs me and pulls me away while Kim grabs Adrien and pulls him in the opposite direction.

"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING MARINETTE DUPAIN-CHENG!" Alix whisper yells at me. "YOU START DATING THE GUY OF YOUR DREAMS THEN KISS CHAT NOIR LITERALLY IN THE SAME DAY!"

"Oh, that," I say laughing a little.

"Why are you laughing! You seriously messed up! You cheated on Adrien! You know the guy you have been crushing on this whole year!" Alix yells at me. Her voice slowly gaining more volume but still being quiet enough that no one else can hear.

"Look, Alix, it's really complicated. I would love to explain it to you but I can't yet. I can explain it to you tomorrow if you don't kill me by then." I say trying to calm her down. She may be small, but when she is angry she is terrifying.

"Fine," She says, "but you better tell Adrien, you won't want him finding out by someone else."

"Deal," I say walking over to Adrien and Kim.

Adriens POV

Marinette and I get to the park immediately to be dragged away in opposite directions by Alix and Kim who do not look happy. Once Kim and I are out of earshot of the other people in the park he looks at me with pure rage in his eyes.

"HOW DARE YOU!" He whisper yells. "Marinette is like a sister to me and you go and treat her like garbage. Do you know how long Marinette has had a crush on you? She has been head over heels for you ever since your first day at school, but that doesn't matter for Mr. Big Shot Model over here, he thinks he can just play with her heart!"

"Kim, what do you mean?" I ask confused as to why he is so angry at me.

"Don't you act all innocent. I know you liked ladybug for a long time, but you are dating Marinette. You can't just go and kiss another girl when you're dating someone else! That is seriously messed up." Kim says glaring at me. If looks could kill, I'd have already lost all nine of my lives.

"Kim, it's not like that. It's complicated. I would love to explain it to you, because I'm pretty sure you will kill me if I don't give you a good explanation, but I can't. At least not yet. Tomorrow I can probably explain it to you but I might not be able to." I say hoping that will satisfy him at least for now.

"Fine, but you better have an amazing excuse if you don't want to be in the hospital tomorrow." Kim says.

"Don't worry, it will be good." I say walking over to where Marinette and Alix are. When we get there I take Marinette's hand and we walk back to her house.

"So, Kim thinks I cheated on you, and will probably kill me if I don't give him an explanation tomorrow." I say

"Same with Alix," Marinette sighs.

"Do we tell them?" I ask.

"I don't think we have a choice," Marinette replies.
