Alya's POV
Nino and I are waiting outside the school for Adrien and Marinette to show up. A few minutes later they come into view and we wave at them. They walk right past us and over to Alix and Kim. The four of them walk into the school together.
"What was that?" I ask.
"I don't know," Nino replies. We walk into the school and to Ms. Bustier's class. We sit in our normal seats and a few minutes later the bell rings. Marinette, Adrien, Alix, and Kim come in, Adrien laughing and the others looking slightly annoyed but still smiling. They all go to their seats as Marinette sits next to me,
"Hey Alya" Marinette says
"Hi," I say blandly then turn away from her and start talking to Nino.
***time skip to lunch***
The bell rings for lunch and everyone starts packing up their stuff. I grab Nino's hand and pull him out of the classroom.
"What about Marinette and Adrien?" Nino asks.
"Let's just have lunch with the two of us, we haven't done that in a while," I say as we walk out of the school.
"Ok, do you want to go to that cafe that just opened up the other day?"
"Sure," I say and we start walking in that direction.
"What's the real reason you just wanted it to be the two of us?" Nino asks when we sit down at one of the booths at the cafe.
"What do you mean?"
"C'mon Alya, I know you better than I know myself. What's wrong?" Nino asks grabbing my hand.
"It's Adrien and Marinette. Ever since they started dating I never see my best friend anymore. She hangs out with Alix more than me now. I know Alix is one of her friends, but I'm her best friend!" I say my voice rising a little towards the end.
"You should talk to Marinette about this. We both know Marinette and she would never hurt you on purpose." Nino says.
"You're right," I say.
"I usually am," Nino jokes as a waitress is walks up to our table.
"What can I get for you two?" She asks pulling out a notepad.
***time skip to after lunch because I can (and I have writer's block)***
After our date we rush back to the school for our afternoon classes. When we get there Adrien and Marinette are standing outside waiting for us.
"Alya, are you ok? You seemed kind of mad earlier." Marinette says running over to me.
"I'm fine, I was just annoyed that you and Adrien completely ghosted is this morning. I thought we were best friends."
"We are, Adrien and I just had to talk about some really important stuff with Alix and Kim." Marinette says.
"And your 'best friend' doesn't get to know what this really important stuff is?" I ask accusingly, my voice rising.
"We didn't even want them to know about it! They found out on accident."
"We're best friends! We aren't supposed to have secrets!" I yell frustrated.
"I've wanted to tell you for so long, but I haven't for YOUR safety!" She yells back.
"What secret could possibly be so dangerous that you can't tell me?!"
"That I'm Ladybug!" She yells.
"What?" I ask quietly.
"I'm Ladybug." Marinette says weakly.
"Your Ladybug? How did I not see it? You literally have the same hair, eyes, and voice. Some best friend I am." I mutter
"Hey, it's not your fault. The magic from the miraculous prevents anyone from connecting the dots."
"Did you just make a pun?!" Adrien says excitedly.
"What? No I didn't!" Marinette says loudly
"Yes you did!" Adrien says, "I am so proud of you M'lady!"
"Adrien is Chat Noir, isn't he?" I ask.
"Yes he is," Marinette sighs.
"This is so cool! Two of my best dudes are superheroes!" Nino says.
"You owe me an interview for keeping this from me for so long!" I demand.
"Sure Alya, now let's get to class.
