Unsaid Secrets- chapter 4

Three days passed sense my mating season. I cannot believe Lord Shen let me do such a thing to him. I mean he complained the next day on how he had lower back pain thanks to me. Ugh I am a useless servant "OI Sapphire get your ass over here!!!!" " C-coming Lord Shen!" I ran to catch up to my master. "You know Sapphire you have been acting strange sense the third of the month," Shen said as he looked out of a window. "Have I? I I didn't notice," I was starting to sweat nervous. "I can't just out right and say that some demons when they mate they mate for life and others they mate for a short time span, and pregnancy is a 79% possibility in most females," I thought, "I know I am not pregnant, that is for a fact, I made sure I couldn't until I was married, so the guy could not throw me out and act like the child isn't his. I am not going to have that again, and my body killed off the child as a result of that!" "Sapphire..." "Y Yes lord Shen?" "You don't have to be nervous around me, but why have you been so....so affectionate towards me? You rarely leave my side as it is...and you look as if you wish to stay with me even after nightfall....so why why is that? I am not mad just tell me...." I looked anywhere but him as he turned around. The red eyes that had pierced mine so many times yet....I was forced to look at him as he used his index and thumb to guide my head to look at him. I saw in his eyes was a mixture of anger, sadness, worry, and what I thought was confusion. The one thing I never saw was sadness. My mouth went dry and so I went ahead and licked my lips as to coat them in liquid to moisturize them .

"I..., I am sorry Lord Shen I...I just cannot say it as you may not like what you hear and try to hurt me or kill me as a result," I manage to say through my fear. Shen tilted his head down his white bangs covering his eyes so I was unable to see. "Really now? Heh," Shen started to chuckle which turned into a laugh, a roaring laugh, then psychotic kind of laughter where he was going crazy. He suddenly grabbed my throat and started to squeeze it to strangle me. However with me being a demon I didn't really need air to survive. "Lord Shen.....You do know I have no need for air so what you are doing now is pointless," I said not even straining my voice. "Oh really? then how about this you tell me what is going on if not I will simply kill you off and discard your body like trash," Shen said and looked at me straight in the eye. his red eyes filled with rage and a craze I didn't quite understand. "Calm down first Lord Shen, I will not tell you if you are in this state and you must promise me something when I tell you," I said flatly not happy one bit at how I am being treated like a rag doll at this point. Shen looked at me and sighed as she started to calm down.

"What is it that you want me to promise you," Shen asked. "I want you to promise not to kill me (let alone try) and to not get angry or even to kick me out," I replied which Shen nodded hesitantly. "Thank you, Now what I am telling you might be shocking, so please sit down," Shen took a seat in a near by chair and urged me to go on, "You see Lord Shen demons like me when they mate they can ether mate for life or a short period of time. The person they mate with becomes to them like their spouse or other half in a sense, I mated sever years ago prior to becoming a slave and well I was kicked out and was also sadly pregnant with my first child at the time. Male demons have a tendency to kick out the woman they mate with when it is their first mating season, and at the time I was experiencing my first mating season as well, so this isn't the first time this happened. And well the third of the month is my mating season and as you saw I kinda lost it then when normally I have my hormones under full control.... and I hate to tell you this but for female demons they have a 79% chance to get pregnant with another demon.....but if they mate with an entirely different species the chances of the female demon becoming pregnant sky rockets to a 98%," I explained and when I looked at Shen which I was using a diagram to show him...he looked rather pale. "So you mean I could become a father from your mating season? and what about my own can it happen," Shen asked as he rested his arms on his legs head craned to look down. "Well If I was pregnant I would have sensed a living form inside of my uterus and so far I don't sense anything. I had my period last week so yeah not pregnant. You can become a father instantaneous from my mating season but as for your own I do not know as there has been nothing documenting hybrids between animals and humans with their mating season and mating with a demon before. So I cannot be of use there sorry," I explained. "May I ask what happened to the child," Shen asked. I nodded in response as he looked back at me, " Well after I was kicked out my body rejected the child as I became depressed as it was normal to feel extreme depression after losing a mate be it by rejection, death, or the mate cheating then leaving the other mate. I was only at the time two weeks into the pregnancy as I had no idea I was pregnant until after I took a test, I thought he would have been happy but he looked scared and kicked me out of his house." I sighed and suddenly I was embraced in a hug. "What a fool, no man should abandon his responsibility! He made you pregnant and yet he kicked you out! No man should do that! Hey I will do this for you tell me his name and where he is at and I will kill him for you," Shen said as anger and rage laced every word he spoke like poison.

"Lord Shen you would be dead before you can even get towards him, he is a demon a fire demon to be honest, and I want you very much alive," I said with a smile. "Besides don't you have to worry about the damn panda, and the furry five?" "Furious Five Sapphire....but still he should not have done that," Shen said. "And where is the evil peacock cause what I see right now is a wimpy bird that worries too much," I insulted him which got him to slap me across the face, "Now there's the bird we all know and love!"

I grinned and just as I did that Shen tore off my kimono which caused me to scream and cover myself. "What's the point in covering yourself? I already saw it all," Shen said with a smirk, "Also as punishment for insulting me you are to be naked all day long, now go and make me lunch." I glared at him, "You are basically asking your men to rape me and you know I could become pregnant right?" Shen paled and handed me a sheet. "Then wear this only then," Shen grumbled smacking his face with his hand. "Damn woman,"Shen muttered. "I heard that," I snapped as I left with the sheet wrapped around me. I got to the kitchen and made his lunch. I wanted to be the better person at this point and decided to make the lunch extra fancy. Ahem....Love elixir.....cough cough. The men asked me for lunch as well. Sen Ye though sighed and helped me. "Let me guess you got in trouble and had to wear only a sheer blanket," Sen asked. I nodded silently crying as I smiled. I called for Shen as I had finished making his dinner. When Shen came down I tried to keep calm and not tackle him into a hug. Shen started to eye me once he took a seat. "You didn't poison this did you," Shen asked. "Nope, I have no need to kill my mate," I said with a sigh. He kept looking at me for a little longer but still started to eat. "There is one thing I didn't tell him, the one thing I would rather die than to tell him...is how to kill me, and take my powers for himself," I thought.
