"Pass it here, Taiga!" The smaller figure hollered to the redhead who stubbornly shooked his head. "I said pass, you idiot!"
"(F/n), girls shouldn't play basketball! It's a man's sport!" The boy who stood in front of her, stated with narrowed eyes. His aura flaming and visible for anyone for past them to see.
"You're an idiot as always! Why can't you see I'm trying to be the same as you?! You always treat me differently! Is it because I'm a girl?!" The (h/c)-ette started to tear up as she screamed at her brother."(F/n)..." The boy whispered, dropping the ball out of his hands and watching his sister cry in front of him. "D-d-don't cry!" He tried to hushed his sister but the girl continued to cry louder than before. In desperation, he slapped a palm on his forehead and frustratedly pulled on his reddish-maroonish hair. "Dammit! Okaa-san's going to kill me!" He cried to no one in particular.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(F/n) hummed to herself as she carried the laundry basket across the hall. Today if she remember properly, would be Taiga's fifteenth birthday and he would be doing the usual routine of practicing his basketball near the maji's courts as soon as possible. She sighed when she stood in front of her brother room and lifted a hand to knock.
Before her knuckles could make contact with the door, it was opened, revealing Kagami, suit up in a white sleeveless hoodie which hid his black singlet. He wore black shorts with a bright red streak on the side and he held a basketball, balancing on his waist. Kagami grinned at the sight of his younger sister and practically pulled her into a hug.
The younger Kagami, flinched at the sudden contact and squirm under his grasp, "Ne! Baka! Why are you hugging me?" She cried hopping that he would get the memo to let go. Instead, he held her in his arms, refusing to obey.
"I'm excited! I'll be finally be responsible from this day on!" He gleamed as if that was an achievement."Baaakkkaaaa! You're suppose to be responsible everyday!" She scolded, kicking her brother in the shin and forcing him to let go. "And besides, you don't need to start being responsible, immaturity runs in our bloodline!"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The little girl continued to wipe her tears on the red hoodie her brother gave to her after they left the public court. He handed her a can of Pocari and sighed before sitting besides her on the steps.
"Man, you're seriously a drag! I've no idea why the guys in my class are so obsessed with you." The boy stated, leaning against the step one more than where he sat. He eyed his eight year old sister and sighed once more. "You need to be aware you're not a little kid now."
"....You don't care about me anyways." The little girl whispered, loud enough for the other Kagami to hear,"You're loud and immature. I'm the exact opposite."
"Nonsense, you're pretty funny and immature as well. Well, immaturity runs in our bloodlines!" He smiled, chuckling at the thought.
(F/n) smiled slightly, running her fingers over the pull tab before turning away embarrassed that she ended up smiling in front of her Onii-chan.
Taiga then awkwardly patted her back in a slow and steady rhythm. "Please just stop crying, if you don't, Okaa-san will kill me for sure.""You already said that." (F/n) stated, pointing it out for her brother as he sheepishly rub his neck.
"I-I did? Damn lack of memory!" He cursed, hearing a small snicker from his sister. He smiled softly, hearing his sister laugh after the death of their father sounded almost foreign. He missed the happiness but instead of stating the obvious , he laughed as well.
As he opened back his eyes, he could see a ghostly figure sitting on the other side of (f/n). His familiar (h/c) hair and red eyes softly gazed and smiled at the two.
"Good boy taiga, looking after your sis is a man's job at the finest!" Tears sprung out of his eyes as he remembered what his Otou-san had said to him, when he carried (f/n) on his back because she accidentally scraped her knee."Eh?! Taiga-nii are you crying?!"
"I-I'm not! I'm just sweating--argh, something's in my eye!" He lied, rubbing furiously his tears away.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------He sat down at the main entrance, tying on his sneakers and pondering for a moment. "I am supposed to be responsible....damn it."
He sighed, resting on the floor with his hands spread wide. He noticed the steps coming closer to him."(F/n)?" He asked, looking at the girl who was upside down in his vision. "What's up?"
"Here." She replied, gripping onto a red wrapped bentō towards him.
"What's this?" He questioned as he tried to unwrap the fabric before getting smacked by the (h/c)-ette.
"You can't eat this until you get to the courts, you got that?" She scolded and he pouted in response before chuckling.
"It's hamburgers, isn't it?" He smirked, as she gasped.
"How did you know?!"
"My nose can smell it from here. It's very delicious." He stated, "Thanks.."
(F/n) folded her hands, "yeah, you better appreciate it." She added with a huff.
He gestured her to bend down, (f/n) took it as a whisper trading and immediately did so.
As soon as she did, the older Kagami planted a soft peck on her forehead. Realizing his sudden actions, he blushed and ran out the door with his stuff. Leaving his sister in shock as she wiped the kiss off of her forehead with an irritated glare, "if he wanted a kiss at least say so! Or warn me for that matter!! I should have quickly rejected it!! GEEZZ" she grumbled as she closed the door with a slam. His blushing face made her smile as she leaned onto the door."Geez, and I didn't say happy birthday yet."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After a buying a Popsicle from the convenient, the Kagami siblings stood in front of the store. Unfortunately they didn't have enough money for singles ice creams but fortunately, Taiga had enough money to buy the Popsicle. It was a minty, blue original flavor. He ripped off the wrapper and split the Popsicle in half, giving one half to (f/n), who happily accepted it.Taiga wrapped his hand around hers, swinging them back and forth slowly as they walked back to the house. "Ne, Onii-chan." The little girl suddenly muttered.
Taiga hummed in reply, continuing to eat off the Popsicle.
"Happy birthday!" She giggled and Taiga stopped in his tracks, "eh? You stopped moving! What's wrong?""Nothing! Just emotional." He cried and rubbed her head affectionally. "Damn, why do I have such an awesome sis like you anyways?" 'You deserve better.'
