Today was just the same, except Itachi was ditching, leaving a shadow clone in his place to train with Shisui. For two months already. Shina was just staying in school, like always. She never had any friends, she didn't mind. She has Shisui-nii and Itachi-kun. The day was about to end, with a couple squeals of fangirls from the shuriken aim. She recently turned eight years old. Back during 23rd of October. Being a good best friend Itachi is, he gave her the dango she owed and a black string. It really confused her at first. She just imagined it was their bond, never forever unbreakable.
The squeals were getting louder as she neared the shuriken aim. Itachi was there, he was given the Konoha headband.
"Congratulations, Itachi!" Izumi was there. Izumi was sometimes with Itachi. Itachi was hanging out less with Shina. Izumi's arms ringed around Itachi's neck. Shina turned away from the scene and ran towards home.
'We're just friends, why did I run away like that? Why can't I just congratulate him? I mean, you saw him given the headband, why run away? What am I even doing?'
Thoughts ran through Shina's head. She didn't even noticed the continous tugging and tightening of her chest. "I don't even love him, stupid." She muttered to herself. She just went into the Training Grounds and sat on a tree.
She clutched her knees to her chest, her arms wrapped around her legs. The wind passed through her red hair, liquid from her eyes were being dragged with the wind.
"I'm just a child, barely even ten."
She wished she was comatose and hopefully wake up in a different universe.
She ran towards home. More likely walked. The wind was comforting her during her travel towards home. As if it was whispering things that it was only a matter of time. She believed it. I will wait, she spoke to her thoughts.
She opened the door to her and Kakashi's small but cozy apartment. Dim lights were the only source of light that was seen in the house. Kakashi was heavily snoring in his room. She dashed towards her room, not even bothering to make dinner and fell asleep.~《》~
The next morning were heavy yells from outside. Those voices were from Tsunade and Jiraiya.
She stood up from her bed and fix the knots that caused from turning and moving positions during her sleep. Sighing, she grabbed her comb that was kept inside her bedside table. Her hair was once like a bird's nest now turned into a crimson waterfall. She stares at herself in the mirror and her cheeks were dirty, her eyes were hanging bags below her eyelids. She looked for more comfortable clothes inside the closet. She wore a white kimono with a black obi, her weapon holster in her right hip, as well as a bunch of scrolls in it. She tied her hair into a low ponytail. After she arranges her bed, she heads out her room. She enters the dining room with familiar faces.
"Shina, you'll be training with me this time." Jiraiya's voice echoed in Shina's ears. Shina thought about it. For the past nine months, she didn't even had a chance to train with Jiraiya. Maybe this training will help remove those feelings that she developed yesterday, Shina thought. Shina nodded.
"Are you sure, Shina? You recently finished my training, you might still be tired." Tsunade looked at me, obviously worried of her student. Kakashi was there, rubbing his hands together, his single eye mirrored Tsunade's. "I'm sure I'll be fine." Shina responded back, unknowingly sadness laced in her voice.
Jiraiya gave out a smug grin and looked at Tsunade, who responded back with her eyebrows furrowed. "I need to do something quick before we leave tomorrow."Jiraiya's eyes lit up at her words. "She said tomorrow!" Jiraiya leapt around the room in glee.
Meanwhile, Shona went to the daycare. I wonder why.
She runs up to the caretaker, hoping she'll be able to enter to a certain room. The caretaker noticed her, she sighed. She places her head on her hand, her elbow supporting the weight. "Look, kid. If you're going to check on that beast again, it ain't advisable. If you--" Shina cut off the disrespectful caretaker's words. "I wasn't asking for your opinion, I'm only going to check on Naruto Uzumaki." Shina bluntly asked. Her face obviously held deep annoyance to the caretaker. Who is she to talk stuff about her brother.
Shina stormed off to her brother's room. What's the point of asking anyway, Shina thought. I'm not going to kill anyone anyway. The smell of marshmallows and brand new baby clothes wafted in the air. Once she arrived at the door, she carefully opens it. The sounds of snores were soft in her ears. Shina immediately smiled. She walked towards the crib that sat by the window, baby necessities were seen on a small table, baby bottles and such. 'Naruto hasn't even seen mom and dad.' Shina thought, a frown was seen on her soft face. She saw her baby brother's face. He inherited their father's golden hair. Mom's face and shape. Hopefully, he'll get the famous mom's verbal tic.Shina silently laughed at the thought. She caressed his face. It was soft, like newborn babies are. Naruto's eyes opened, majestic sapphire blue that explored around the area. His big blue eyes saw Shina. He immediately giggled and reached out for her sister's touch.
"Hello, Naruto." She picked him up, tickling his tummy. He giggled of course.
"I'm going to leave for awhile. Are you okay without me here?" Naruto's giggles lessened. As if he knows what she's saying. He smiled.
"You're strong. I know you can handle yourself."Naruto went back to sleep in her arms.
I'm gonna miss you a lot.
