Chapter 42

I woke up late and noticed Gabe was gone. Our baby was moving around uncontrollably. I stood up and did my hygiene but the baby was still moving. After brushing my teeth, I went to the kitchen rubbing my stomach. Granny was cooking a late breakfast.

"Oooh just what I need Granny." I said kind of scaring her. "Girl you better announce yourself. What's wrong with you?" She asked noticing my face.

"The baby is moving. Idk why he is so hype." She put her utensils down and turned to face me. She grabbed my right hand and put it on my tummy.

"Now walk slowly and sing whatever song that comes to your head while rubbing your belly in a soft circular motion." I did as I was told and sung the first song I could think of.

I sung slowly as I paced slowly while rubbing my stomach.

"IT WORKED! HES CHILL!" I yelled hugging my granny.

"He?" She asked.

"Oh. Well I don't know what we're having. It just kind of slipped."

"So you think it's a boy?"

"I don't want a boy and God usually sends us the opposite so I have kind of come to terms with it." I told her as she stale faced me.

"Have you seen Gabe?" I asked her to change the subject.

"Yes, he's with Kev at the studio."

She finished cooking and I ate before getting dressed and heading out to the studio to meet Gabe. You would think I learned my lesson about studio buss ups but nope. If he's still acting out, I'm done. I also wanted to see him before I went to pick up Mac's annoying ass. Hopefully he learned his lesson after a few hours in there.

After picking up fish and chicken platters from Uncle Larry's, I pulled up to the studio and the lot was packed as usual. I figured Kev would have Gabe in the back so I proceeded that way after speaking to the receptionist.

I could smell the weed and alcohol coming from the door. It was loud so I was glad I brought a lot of food. Ain't no telling who Kev has in here.

I walked in and Gabe was in the booth. Kev and shine were at the board. JMike, KT and G were seated in some chairs around the room. I was shocked to see both Ko and Mac seated on opposite ends of the couch. I immediately rolled my eyes at Mac and he smiled. I could not stand his ass. After everything I did for him.

Shine got up and gave me his seat so I sat there as everyone got food. Shine was my older cousin but he was legit. He didn't get involved in bullshit unless he absolutely had to. He was the local sound engineer, videographer, photographer, DJ, whatever you needed him to be. I played on my phone as Gabe finished up in the booth.

"What's up baby momma?" Gabe said to me as I rolled my eyes. He knows I hate that word. He kissed me on my neck and then spun me around to kiss my lips as he rubbed my stomach causing the baby to move like earlier.

"Uh uh" I said slapping his hand away. "He just calmed down. You with the shit." Gabe smiled and lit up as I said he. I knew he wanted a son and I think that's what made me come to terms with having a son.
