Chapter 7.

Lydia's PoV

"Do you guys know what song you're going to audition with?" I asked the boys.

"I have to sing 'Baby' by Justin Bieber. So, I guess." Zayn commented.

"I dunno, I was thinking of doing 'I'm Yours' by Jason Mraz." Niall spoke up.

"Oh! Good choice, Nialler!" Louis piped up. "I was going to do 'Hey There Delilah' by Plain White T's." Louis added.

"I'm going to do 'You're Beautiful' by James Blunt." Liam spoke.

"What about you, Lydia?" Niall asked me.

"I want to do 'Crazy in Love' by Beyonce, but I don't know. I don't think I'd be able to sing it very well..." I responded.

"Well, sing it for us, we'll tell you want we think." Liam suggested.

"No, I shouldn't, I couldn't." I shook my head, not wanting to embarrass myself in front of the boys.

"Oh, c'mon! Sing for us, Lydia! We're not that scary, are we?" Louis jumped in.

"No, you're not. But I still don't think I'd be able to bring myself to do so.." I tried to get around the boys requests.

"Lydia, if you can't sing in front of us four, what makes you think that you'll be able to sing in front of everyone who's at the auditions? You're not scared, are you?" Zayn sighed, looking at me. Zayn had a point.

"Ugh, fine I'll sing for you guys. And, no, I'm not scared, Zayn." I said, finally giving in. There was a chorus of 'yeses' through out the car, I just rolled my eyes and took a deep breath as I recalled the lyrics. I closed my eyes, taking another deep breath before singing.

The car was silent.

Was I that bad? I thought as I opened my eyes to see the boys staring at me in shock.

"So... What do you guys think..?" I asked, not completely sure if I wanted to know what they thought.

"What do we think?" Liam asked, responding to my question with another question.

"That you have a fucking amazing voice! You could sing any bloody song and it would sound good!" Louis practically shouted looking at me instead of the road ahead. He had drifted to the other side of the road, and there was an on coming car. I went wide eyed, they boys all screamed at Louis, but he didn't seem to hear them, he was too focused on me.

"Louis! Pay attention the the road, there's a god-damn car coming, and I don't want to die in an head-on-collision!" I screamed, that got his attention, he quickly jerked on the steering wheel as and pulled us onto the other side of the road.

I let out a breath of relief, I heard the others do the same. We sat in silence for about a minute.

"All in favour of someone else driving on the way back, say 'I'." Zayn spoke, breaking the silence.
