Greer stopped outside L's office and composed himself, opened up the letter from M and read it slowly. A letter, it must have arrived very early. After taking a good look at it he seen that it was printed using Scottish Paper. The symbol at the bottom of the page was different. Kept in the dark. Questions was raised in his head. Was he now just going from the frying pan into the fire. He read the letter and it was absolute nonsense to him, so he brought out his blue stained glasses from his inside pocket and flicked a tiny switch in the middle, a new set of writing appeared, the real letter...

The letter read...

I might firstly apologise to you for the fact that we have kept you waiting.
I am afraid the day rather overran in one or two meetings but I hope it has not caused you too much inconvenience.
We are aware that you have had a optimistic day and I think a very worthwhile one.
On a more important note our joint general arms control issues, we discussed problems on the Conventional Forces in a E Treaty and I explained to you and later to L where we saw problems with that. L agreed we must find solutions jointly or, as he put it, there is no alternative.
I'm not the one to personally pass over responsibilities to anyone, including you Mr Greer.
I personally want you to find out who planted this false mole in our Scottish Branch. I'm sure you know by now your presence in Scotland was a cover, I needed a man on the inside and I needed the best.
To sum up therefore I'm positive your time won't be wasted. Route out this rat.

Your license has now become 'Irrevocable'.
You are now 007
