James Bond 007 : TimeFire

Fortress

The address had led Greer, who was now to be officially known as James Bond, an alias name everyone was given on getting 007 status.

If Greer didn't know better he would have guessed the route was taking him to the BIG C. Was L housed under the BIG C? If he was he was definitely 013 status. The Castle had finally popped into view as it towered above the rest of the city, tourists had overflown and were everywhere. Greer parked and made his way into Edinburg castle. Bond made his way to the basement levels, the further down into the volcano, he was sure L was here. The elevator had stopped at floor 17. The doors opened.

Beyond the doors there were glass rooms at both sides, each housing a computer, each with a person working on it. They were not the ones that had abandoned HQ. They were oblivious then to what had happened. Had they just seen L. Bond made his way slowly inside and towards the far end of the room where the final office was, L had nowhere else to go, he still hadn't left his comfort zone, all he had was MI5.

Bond opened the door slowly his gun pointed left, his eyes ran the room, the revolver followed, empty. No sign of L. At the desk he noticed the telephone receiver was off its hook by a few millimetres, L was here, then pain soared into his head, he gasped for air as his jaw hit the edge of the desk smashing his two rows of teeth together hard, he tried to fire off a shot but was stopped by L, his arm hurt even more than his head in a flash. He kicked upwards at L after hitting the floor but L caught his foot and twisted it quickly, throwing his weight to the ground and onto Bonds leg, the heel of L's foot came spiralling downwards to his face, James stopped it with his left hand and sunk the knife which was in his left hand into L's foot. L screamed out, a sign of weakness and as sore as James was, he had won.

Bond got to his feet and after pointing the gun at L's head he asked him one question.

"Who is your contact"?
L didn't speak but reached for his gun and brought it upwards, but he was too slow.
