Greer had entered the office of L at HQ. The letter L was before M which meant that L was under M in rank. The man behind the desk was bald, old, and wore gold rimmed glassed, spherical in shape, the lines were deep on his face, he was aged and weathered, almost lathered, his skin looked like it was sick skin. Greer kept his business on point when he spoke and after shaking hands he sat down opposite L, the desk was big, bigger than M's back in Great Britain.

"How did this happen"? he asked then laid the paper on L's desk, under his nose. L seemed taken aback and shrugged his shoulders like he was entirely oblivious to the seriousness of it all.

"We have a mole Mr Greer, a damn fine good one and we have been trying to route out this little rat for almost four weeks, and unfortunate as it is, the entire business with Vaughn was staged to flush out the vermin in our home, you have our sincerest apologies Mr Greer, we needed a rookie, a new 006 agent, although be it being kept in the dark it was necessary to make the mole superior" he replied and then as if to end the conversation got up from his chair and turned his back on Greer.

"Now wait just a god damn minute... my face has been spread all over this country and your telling me you couldn't find an idiot mole in four weeks, the best building in Scotland with the brightest minds and you set me up" he demanded more than just a simple 'up yours' answer from HQ.

"You watch yourself Mr Greer, we were under orders just like you were, and this is from M" he shot back and dropped a letter into Greer's lap and offered him the door. Greer was furious on the inside he could feel his blood boil. He was also adapted at keeping a pretence attitude but his eyes spoke volumes. Greer had lifted the letter, pocketed it and gave L a warning "this isn't over L..." then slammed the door behind him hard. The secretary looked shocked at him.

Greer returned to his car or at least, he tried to return.
