Weeks passed, Anne and Gilbert only got stronger. But that wasn't going to be forever.
They talked all the time, when Anne's parents left the house Anne always went to see Gilbert, they usually got out at night, to any place, sometimes they just went out to drive in the car and listen to music, those days were the best days of both of them.
It was Friday night and someone was knocking the door.
—Cole? What are you doing here?— Anne said.
—Well you told me I could come anytime, sorry for not coming before. You wanna go out tonight?
Anne was going to her special place with Gilbert that night.
—I- I'm not sure I-
—of course she wants to !— her mom appeared behind her while saying that.
—Hi Marilla how are you?— Cole said.
—oh amazing Cole thank you, Anne why not? You have nothing to do tonight, or have you?
Anne couldn't said Marilla what she was going to do.
—oh no but-
—then amazing ! Just change your clothes before you go, come here Anne hurry up, give us 5 minutes Cole.

They went upstairs to find something to wear.
—Mom but I don't want to !
—Anne you never go out, he is a nice guy and comes from a beautiful family.

—Anne shut up he is going to hear you, you are going with him right now and that's all.
So Anne changed clothes and went outside with him, Gilbert was going to be so sad.
They where going out when Gilbert came, he wasn't going to leave it like that.
—Anne? I thought...
—you work here?—Cole said.
—uh yes— Gilbert said.
—Then why are you taking to us? In my house we don't let the workers of our house talk to us.
—Cole stop ! Don't be mean— Anne said.
—oh so are you friends with him? You want me to tell your mom about this?
—Anne I- Gilbert said.
—You should leave— Anne said.
Gilbert was speechless.
—Right now— Anne looked at him in the eyes and Gilbert was almost crying, those words hurt so much.
And Gilbert left. Anne wasn't feeling right.

On the date Cole told Anne something she could have never imagine.
—I'm sorry if I was mean with your friend but i really needed to talk with you— Cole said.
—what do you want?— Anne asked.
—Can you please promise you won't tell anyone this? I'm serious.
—i promise.
—in case you don't, I just have to let you know I know about your adventure with that dude that works in your house, I came to visit you one time and you were kissing him.
Oh shit, Anne thought.
—Okay okay, i promise, please don't tell my mom anything about it.

Cole didn't said anything for a moment.
—i think I like men— he whispered.
—what? Are you serious?— Anne whispered too.
—yes, and that's why I need your help— Cole said.
—so?
—I need you to pretend we are dating, just in front of my parents.
—are you crazy?
—just for a few days, please anne.
—okay fine ! Just a few days.
—Thank you so much Anne, you want to go back to your house?
—yes please and no problem Cole.
Anne went back to her house and immediately search for Gilbert.
He wasn't there. Her mom saw her and told her to go inside to sleep.
The next day Anne didn't saw Gilbert anywhere. She didn't had a chance to talk with him.
A week passed and Anne went for a dinner on Cole's house, the next day Anne's parents where going to make a party at their house.

In other news Gilbert got a letter from his school:
"Dear Gilbert Blythe. We have been informed you missed the change to continue school but we have seen your grades, and we thought it would be good to give you another chance so you could continue studying. You are an amazing student that deserves to finish school.
Hope you come back to avonlea soon, we are waiting for you Gilbert !"
Gilbert wasn't sure about going back to avonlea. He really wanted to finish school but the job he had paid really good and there was Anne, even if he felt really bad about what happened he still loved her with all his heart and wanted to spend all the time with her. But maybe school was first.
He came back to the house at night, it was his free day, and he saw some people in the house, there was a party. Cole was with Anne, he couldn't believe it.
They were living but before that Cole kissed Anne on the cheek and left.
Anne was alone, she didn't looked happy.
Gilbert needed to talk with her.

—Anne? Are you serious? Why haven't you talk with me?— he asked.
—I haven't had time Cole and I-
—Cole and I? Anne I can't believe you.
—Gilbert this is not what you think.
—I don't need an explanation, Anne I'm sorry for not being the man you deserve, I'm sorry for being a poor kid that doesn't have money, if I could I will give you everything I have, everything I have is yours Anne Shirley, everything.
Gilbert was crying he couldn't contain it anymore.
—And you know what Anne? —he said— I got a letter from my school in avonlea, they will help me to finish school, and I think it's the best for me to go back. I can't see you at the face Anne, I can't see you knowing you'll never be with me.
—Gilbert I love you— Anne said. She was crying too.
—I love you too Anne, but this will never work out. I leave in two days— and Gilbert went away.
—Gilbert ! Gilbert wait !— Anne said. But it wasn't worth it. He wasn't listening to her.
Anne cried all night and Gilbert too.
They were meant to be but they just couldn't see it. Anne still got a chance to make things right with Gilbert. Will she do it ?
