"That thing is too cliché," Jieun shook her head at Hyunjin's suggestion to getting onto the Ferris wheel.
"Ayee, what are you thinking, you dirty-minded kid?" Hyunjin smirked.
"Huh," Jieun pondered over his question for awhile before the image of her kissing him in the cart appeared in her mind. She hit his arm before turning bright red. She wasn't even talking about that.
"I wasn't even thinking about that, you idiot," she rolled her eyes and walked away from him. She didn't want Hyunjin to see her fluttered self. She had a tough image to keep.
Hyunjin just chuckled at the cute girl. He grabbed her wrist from behind and pulled her towards the long line for Ferris Wheel.
From afar, Felix saw the interaction between his ex and the guy. His stomach felt weird and there was something burning in his chest. He knew he wasn't supposed to be feeling this way.
His body had a mind of its own when his feet carried him towards the couple having fun though.
Jieun's eyes widened when she saw Felix standing in front of her. What was he doing here at the carnival? Was he on another date with a different chick?
She unconsciously pulled her hand out of Hyunjin's grip when Felix's gaze burnt holes into their hands. If those eyes had the power of the Superman, their hands would have turned into ashes by now.
Hyunjin observed how Jieun's demure had changed as soon as Felix appeared. He knew they have dated before. Does she still like him?
Felix pulled Jieun to his side – away from Hyunjin – by her waist. This made Jieun to lay her hands on his chest due to the suddenness. Seeing her uncomfortable, Hyunjin pushed Felix away, "What do you think you are doing, dude?"
"Jieun, we have to talk," Felix's eyes were burning with intensity. Jieun slightly hid behind Hyunjin. "She obviously doesn't want to talk to you," Hyunjin retorted with a cold tone.
"This have nothing to do with you," Felix literally growled.
"I –"Hyunjin would have told the guy off if it wasn't for a soft tugging at his shirt from the girl from behind. Jieun didn't want to attract any attention. There was already a couple of teenagers giving them inquisitive looks.
"Talk to me here," Jieun could have frozen the melting glaciers into icebergs again with her voice.
Felix ruffled his hair in frustration. Why did he have to get himself into this mess? He just wanted Hyunjin to be away from his girl. But, he didn't know what he was supposed to say anymore. She would find it strange if he straight out told them not to be together because he wanted her to be his - and his only.
"Oh, I have been looking all over for you, babe," a hand snaked around Felix's torso.
It was the strawberry blonde girl from school's cafeteria. Jieun scoffed at the sight and looked at Felix to see what he had left to say. She was right; he was on a date. If so, why would he give that look of betrayal at her being with Hyunjin? She hates him.
When Felix finally met her eyes again, he could see the bitterness and broken pieces alongside her tears that couldn't escape. He broke the only girl he had loved. He had ruined everything. Again.
Jieun turned her back on everyone and walked towards the washroom as nonchalantly as possible. But, inside, she was falling apart.
