"Hey," Hyunjin softly greeted from behind her locker.
"Hey, what can i help you with?" Jieun confusedly replied.
Although they have talked twice before (that is if you count borrowing a pen and apologizing for bumping as talking), they aren't really friends or acquaintances.
"I was just wondering," his eyes were fixated on the floor, looking so shy as if it was his first time talking to a girl.
How ironic because with his flower boy visual, all the girls were swooning around him for him to just have a glance at them.
"uhm- do you want to-," he paused again, rubbing his nape and smiling awkwardly.
"Yeah?" Jieun was getting impatient. She didn't have breakfast and her stomach was growling.
"Do you want to hangout this weekend? We could get to know each other and all?" He shut his eyes tight in anticipation.
"Oh, sorry, I won't be in town this weekend," Jieun sent him an apologetic smile.
But, it was a lie. She was going to be holed up in her house with kdramas and packs of chips.
She just wanted to be away from guys. Guys equal trouble. Her ex taught her that.
What surprised her was that he let out a sigh of relief on hearing her answer.
"I am sorry for bothering you. My friends dared me to ask you out," he smiled more freely this time.
Jieun clenched her teeth in annoyance.
She scoffed. A dare? What are they? Nine years old kids? She gave him a stiff nod and headed to the cafeteria.
See? Boys equal trouble.
She put the food tray on the table harshly - more like slamming.
"I hate boys," was the first thing she said to her best friend.
Sohye laughed and eyed her. "What happened?" She asked on seeing her pissed off.
"Just guys," Jieun frantically gestured with her hands.
"Oh and i don't know why but Felix texted me last night," she told Sohye while biting on the sandwich.
Sohye scrunched up her face and complained, "You have food in your freaking mouth. Don't talk."
Jieun gestured her an 'okay'.
"Wait, what? Felix?" Her OCD ass finally grasped the information.
Jieun, this time, nodded her head instead of speaking.
"Girl, why have you not blocked his number?" Sohye looked intimidating with her arms on her waist. But, really, she is a real softie.
"Well, just because," Jieun eyed anywhere but at the girl.
"Give me your phone," Sohye snatched the gadget as she knew it wouldn't be in her hands unless a drastic measure is taken.
"Sohye, please don't do it! I swear I won't reply to him. I just- i just don't want to erase the texts," Jieun pleaded. Tears brimmed in her eyes.
"Jieun-ah, don't be like this," Sohye sighed, frustrated to see her best friend like this.
"Fine, I won't delete. But, on one condition, you will have to go on a double date with me this weekend," Sohye smirked at her own idea of having her best friend out of her depression hole.
Little did they know that Felix was close enough to hear the whole conversation. He bit his lips in guilt as he ruffled his hair in annoyance.
