Hyunjin had his head on the table - facing the girl who had all her attention on the thick textbook in front.

He poked her cheeks and had her glared at him. 

"What?" 

"Nothing," he replied grinning. 

Poke. 

Jieun let out a big sigh. "I swear to god, if you say nothing one more time, I am going to beat you to pulp," her attention now solely focused on him. 

"Uhm," Hyunjin gulped and looked around, trying to find something to talk about in order to avoid the girl's wrath. 

His eyes landed on Felix who was side-eying him and Jieun with a strawberry blonde by his side. Jieun followed his gaze to find her ex. Why was he everywhere? 

"Remember the wish you owed me at the carnival? I want to use it now," Hyunjin told the girl with mischief filling his eyes. 

"HUh?" 

"Kiss me on the cheeks," he winked at her and tapped his cheek. 

"What?" Jieun laughed. He got to be kidding her. 

Was he being serious when he came up with the "keep ex away" plan? On the thought, her eyes darted towards the orange-haired boy across the room. 

Memories came flashing back. A girl wrapping her hands around Felix, calling him babe. Him coming after Jieun, telling her he hated seeing her with another man. 

He hated seeing her with another man. Would he care if she kissed Hyunjin now? 

Jieun shook her head. She couldn't believe her thought process right now. Did she just think of using Hyunjin in order to make Felix care? She was getting more pathetic each day and she was starting to hate what she was becoming. 

"I'm so sorry, Hyunjin," she could no longer meet his eyes. Her fingers were wrapped tightly around her pen, turning her knuckles white. 

"Hey, what for? I'm sorry if I made you upset. I swear I didn't mean to," the guy was flustered. 

"Your offers are tempting me to use you. I know it's not you fault but I just thought of agreeing with your wish just to make him jealous, and it's really not fair for you. I can't believe I just thought of that. I'm so sorry. I mean, you just offered to help me out like a good friend you are. It's my responsibility to reject but I ACTUALLY THOUGHT OF USING-," the girl started rumbling out of disappointment in herself. 

Hyunjin put his hands around her cheeks and made her face him. 

"Girl, chill, I will never make you kiss me again okay?" he chuckled. 

"Jeez, you didn't have to come up with that long ass excuse to avoid pecking me on the cheek. Such a drama queen," he booped her nose teasingly. 

I'm so sorry for the short chapter ... I have been trying to get back into writing but it's been a year and I didn't know where to start ...    🥺
