Chapter 7: You will Never know...

Baris POV

I stood outside of the photo studio, placing my hand on the railing. I sighed... I know that this orientation wasn't the first time meeting Leonard, but who knows I could have created such a bad impression. It's killing me...

Back in Secondary School days...

My Family had shifted to Singapore due to my father's working condition. Then, I was only 15, and my younger sister, Pensri, was 13.

I still remember...

It was the day that I just had a basketball practice with Elijah and Henry. I was walking alone home after practice, and I saw Pensri walking in a distance with a guy who was about the same height as her. I wanted to call her so that we can head home together. As I raised my hand and wanted to call out, I heard a sound. It was a cat's meowing! I turned my head towards the sound direction and realized that it's coming from the huge drainage near the path we were walking. I ran towards the drain and look, it was a cat in a box, and it's getting washed away with the flow of the water! As I wanted to head across the railing to save the cat, Pensri's friend was faster than me! He jumped across the railing and made a nice landing on the surface ground of the drain. He ran towards the box and grabbed the cat up slowly. He gave a pat on the head. 

"It's okie! Everything is fine now!" He said to the cat while scratching the head of the cat. 

How could someone have such good flex? I stared at him for a moment as I sat on the railing.  

"How is he? Everything is okie? Are you okie?" Pensri asked her friend, "You just shocked me by jumping over the railing!"

Her friend just nodded his head as he continued scratching the cat's head. 

"Oh? Isn't that Baris? BARIS!!" Pensri waved her hand to signal me when she noticed me sitting on the railing. 

It took me a while to react to Pensri's calling. I got over the railing and ran towards Pensri, checking on her if she was okie...

"Yes, I'm fine! Oh! This is my friend, Leonard!" Pensri introduced, "and Leonard, this is my brother, Baris!"

I stared at him for a moment... Leonard...  

I reached my hand out for a handshake... 

And this is how my first time meeting Leonard went. 

After that incident, I could not get his brave act, to save the cat, out of my mind. Every day I would think about how he was risking his life, just for a cat. Sometimes Elijah and Henry would also be irritated at how much I spoke about him in front of their face.  Those days, I did not know what I was feeling about him. But I did know, I want to know him even more, but I didn't dare to ask.

On the day of our departure back to Thailand, as the taxi drove off, I saw him running out from the driver's mirror, standing from afar seeing us leave. I wanted to turn around to see him standing there, but I didn't and I just see his sight getting smaller and smaller as we drove...

Back in the day of Leonard's Interview...

On the day when Leonard's was having his interview, I received a call to ask me to visit my lecturer's room. As I was rushing to my lecturer's room, I accidentally banged into someone, causing him to fall to the ground with his documents falling all over the place. I looked at this person as he apologized to me and I find him really familiar, and I knew that I know him. 

"Are you okie? Come, let me help you!" I took this opportunity to squat down to help him pick up his documents. As I was helping him to pick up his documents, I tried to peek at his face to see if it's him... As he stood up, I saw the nametag stated on his uniform, "Leonard Lee" ITS HIM! He was going to interview for the same University that I am in! I stood there for a moment as I saw him walked into the interview room. I wonder this time, how am I going to face him...
