The Threat Of Extinction

4 hours had passed since they first got Guardian on the ship and the winds were not helping them get back to Dinky. The ship was fighting the wind to get back, for they did not have the equipment to treat Guardian. After pulling all of them out there was twelve arrows, mainly on her chest and stomach. Yet they were no normal arrows, no they had a metal tip, sharped like iron. The wood was also way more durable, which oddly helped with they were pulling them out.

The wing was next. The chilling snap they heard was nothing little, it was the main bone of the wing. It seemed like it had already been fractured and when she tried to use it it snapped. They splinted it with what ever they had, but it defiantly needed a stronger one. They tied that wing to her side to keep her from moving it.

She had finally passed out as they were bringing her on bored, but some how miraculously staid alive. But the most telling of wounds were the swords, or what they thought were swords. Instead they were axes and one actually seemed to try cut off her tail to keep her from flying away. For one reason or another the cut wasn't that deep.

But all along they had questions. If her scales can shield from a Scauldron, arrows, even these ones, shouldn't be able to even get close to getting to the skin.

But while they were working the answer became clear,

Yes, normally they wouldn't scratch them, but this was an unfortunate time of year. They only shed their scales once a year, leaving newer less hard scales in there place, they guessed that's where the special arrows came into play. They found this out when treating her ax wounds, by finding harder scales she had yet to shed, mainly on her back and someone her tail. But her chest and stomach? Nope, all completely shed. Telling them who ever did this knew exactly,  what they were doing.

At the center of it to no one surprised was Evelyn, feeling guilty over the situation. She was confused, she thought Guardian would never hurt her, but yet she tried to kill her. Was she not as smart as she thought? Or more smarter then she ever thought, and she was right to fear any viking.

Hours of fighting the wind was finally worth it as Dinky was now in sight. And they quickly docked in record time. The looks they first got when unloading a dragon were plentiful, but thankfully they stopped after they saw what kind of dragon it was.

You see, Evelyn was not the first or the only fisherman that had befriended a Polar Break. Now her was much more in depth, heck most other Polar Breaks never came on the ship, but it still stands she wasn't the only one. In this new light many other fishermen, weather they knew them or not, came to help move Guardian to the healers. Speaking of which not only did one of the best healer come out to help it took them around eight hours to get done. Between the splint, Arrow wounds and getting herbs to prevent infections.

Unfortunately, Guardian herself didn't help this go any faster. She had woken up rather quickly, and it took four well built men to hold her down while they were working. Thankfully word of this spread like wildfire in the island and an armor man came by to make a muzzle and chains to hold her down, much to Evelyn's dismay.

After hearing the news chief Willow decided to turn the arena, which was normally used for sword training, into a cage. It was carved into a mountain, just around the corner from the village and was about a haft circle. They put chains from top to bottom and crossed a few, big enough for a human to slip through, but far to small for Guardian. Everything had been taken out, only what ever blankets they could find to put her on.
