Wack! Wack! Evelyn's staff hit a dummy on the arm then head. She spun around and hunched her back pulling her hand holding the staff behind her back. Her nostrils flared and she hit the dummy's legs has hard as she could with a loud crack. The dummy spin and hit hit the ground with a thud. She took a breath before walking over to pick it back up.
It was high noon at Dinky and Evelyn was feeling the heat. She had set up the old training equipment in front of Guardian's cage to begin training. A pile laid on the side of many dummy's she had broken by knocking a limb off. Always wanting to be a better fighter, but had never gotten off her butt to do so. She had done that with a lot of things and wanted to start a new.
Guardian watched her when she first started, but Evelyn could never tell what she was actually thinking for when ever she looked over she would quickly glare. Once she got bored of watching her she started to pace back and forth, like she was studding the chains. She wasn't going to break the chains unless she maybe found a week spot, but found no such thing. She growled in frustration and smoke came snorting out of her nostrils.
Evelyn kept seeing her glance at the water trough and the pile of fish next it. She refused to eat ether, in fact the fish had to really stinking after the week or two they've been there.
The dummy dropped their arms as she set it back up. She re-positioned its arms while standing up straight again and walked back in position to fight.
Out of the blue Guardian rammed herself into the chains. She looked over to she her getting up off the ground. Her red eyes looked distant. She tightly squinted her tired eyes and her roared thundered. You could her the snap of pain in her cry, she was starting to break. She opened up her eyes again and slashed the chains with her claws, but stumbled.
Evelyn quickly spotted her light headiness. She was clumsy and clearly couldn't think or see straight. Sweat was dripping from underneath her scales. Her breathing labored.
She walked over and deduced from the untouched water trough it was major dehydration. Knowing it was bad since she had walked right up to the trough without her noticing.
"Come on think" She thought trying to figure a way to get her drink.
She might be to proud, but, maybe. She bent down and put her hands into the water.
Warm, very warm and that gave her an idea. She stood back up and ran towards the town with a growl from Guardian as she ran past.
-----
Guardian's head spun making her unbalanced. She swayed often having to move her feet to stay standing. She had been taught to die then to give up, but more was at steak here. Her home, her pack, her Alpha, someone who took her in kept believing and trusting in her when no one thought she'd survive. The one who taught her to fight even if there's little to fight for. She couldn't abandon them they needed her, she had to escape and get back to them. Out of this cursed condiment. She slashed the chains with what ever she had left.
The world turned on its side and she stumbled over to the wall hitting the trough on her way over. She slammed the wall. Leaning on the wall she looked out to the ocean, the wight clouds began mixing with the sea. She wanted so badly to lay down and join her parents, but couldn't, she had to keep fighting.
