Obtaining the Dragon...?

Approaching the place where the dragon had fallen, Bowser was almost skipping, she had such a bounce to her step. This was it! This plan was going to work! And this change in appearance was going to make it work even better! She wasn't even bothered by the rough terrain beneath her bare feet. Nothing could go wrong with this! 

"I can't say it enough! You're a genius!" She cackled. "Mario won't be able to resist the idea of chasing down another dragon if there's another princess in 'danger!'" Her shoulders hunched over a little as she giggled evilly. Though after a moment, she straightened up. "Oh! Shouldn't I change my name? If you and the guys call me Bowser, they'll know it's me!" She crossed her arms in thought as she walked next to the floating magikoopa. "It's gotta be something cool. I ain't answering to some stupid name! Uhhhh..... Peacher? No, that's too similar to Peach... ...Bowletta? No- that's stupid. AAAAAAHHHHHH....??? What am I going to call myself?"

And then it dawned on her, and her lips stretched into an insane, sharp-toothed grin. "BOWSETTE!" 

"Isn't that too similar to your-" Kamek tried to object.

"YOUR FACE IS SIMILAR! I'M USING IT!" Bowsette interrupted.

They finally got to the fallen dragon, much to Kamek's relief, and the magikoopa set to reviving the dragon with his magic. 

A few swipes of the wand, and the massive dragon finally opened one of its eyes. Bowsette and Kamek could see their own reflections in the eye as the pupil thinned and moved from one to the other.

"WAKEY WAKEY! I'VE GOT ANOTHER PLAN AND THIS ONE'S DEFINITELY GONNA WORK!" Bowsette roared up at the massive reptile.

"Princess..." The dragon slowly hissed.

"YEAH, I LOOK GREAT, DON'T I?" Bowsette grinned as the dragon got up. "NOW, HERE'S THE PLAN..."

The dragon didn't listen as this tiny princess went through whatever plan she had. He didn't even let her finish. He got to his feet, stretched his body and wings, scooped her up in his massive claws, and took to the sky.

And Kamek started screaming. "THAT WASN'T PART OF THE PLAN!" But Bowsette was already too far up to hear him. 

"OH, HEY! FREE RIDE TO THE MUSHROOM KINGDOM! WHOO!" She laughed and cheered as the dragon flew off in the direction of Peach's castle.

Kamek nearly had a panic attack as he tried to catch up to them, but the dragon's massive wingspan made him fly much faster than his broom could allow. "THE DRAGON'S GONE ROGUE!"

Bowsette, having no clue what was happening, gave an evil laugh as the landscape below them started to change more to that of the Mushroom Kingdom. "We're getting close. Fly around the castle a couple times to get their attention!" She shouted up at the beast, which growled back down at her and roared.

"Oh! Right, I should make it look like I'm in distress." She drew in a deep breath and started wailing like how Peach does when he kidnaps her. "MAAAAAARIOOOOOOO!!! AAAAHHHHH! HELP MEEEEEE-!" Bowsette broke character and snorted in laughter. "I can't believe I just said that." 

Apparently it worked because when she looked down, among all the scattered, panicking toads, she could see the red-clad plumber running after them. She hid her evil grin with one hand and reached out with another. "Come on, take the bait- MAAAARRRIIIIOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"

To Mario, it looked like she was sobbing in terror. But Bowsette was just trying really hard not to laugh at this ridiculous plan. She turned back to the dragon when they'd lost Mario. "ALRIGHT! YOU CAN PUT ME DOWN, NOW!"

When the dragon didn't respond, she repeated herself. "I SAID YOU CAN PUT ME DOWN, NOW!"

The dragon didn't respond again.

"YO! YOU DEAF?! I SAID PUT ME DOWN!" Bowsette growled angrily up at the beast.

He responded by tightening his grip around her and snarling down at her.

And that was when she realized what was happening. 

She actually was a damsel in distress.

LIKE HELL, SHE WAS!

Bowsette started kicking and screaming, and pounding her fists into the toes of the beast that were curled around her body and breathing fire the best she could with the tightened pressure around her chest and waist! "PUT ME DOWN, YOU BASTARD!" She roared angrily up at the dragon, but she didn't seem to damage the bigger dragon. She shrieked in frustration up at him as he glared back down at her. "I'LL END YOU! SEE WHO'S THE BADDER DRAGON!"

She tried prying the dragon off her and roaring and breathing fire again, but it proved useless. And the reptile decided he'd heard enough of her as he started squeezing her so hard she couldn't breathe. She managed to claw a couple scales off before she blacked out.

Relieved by her silence, the creature focused on getting to the cave he had at the top of a nearby mountain. He'd already collected plenty of shiny gems and things there and she was going to make another great trophy for his collection. He even had a cage up there just in case he came across things like her. He'd wanted to steal a princess like the one Bowser had for some time, now.

Little did he know that the 'princess' in his claws was actually Bowser himself...
