Questioning the Heart

Reader's POV
It's been a couple days since the double date and I was suprised to see that Aki kept treating Me and Masamune the same way she always has. I would have expected her to at least be a bit nicer to us but instead, it seems that she is a little more harsh. It wad now lunch and we were at the shed. As Yoshino sat next to me and Masamune drank some juice, I just listened to songs on my phones with ear buds in. I just tuned out whatever everyone was saying as Yoshino ate in...relative peace. Until Masamune tapped me on the shoulder.

Masamune: I think it's time we left
(YN): Why?

Masamune gestures to Aki, who was glaring at us for a reason I couldn't make out. I nod and we both left the shed as I closed it after myself.

(YN): why were we supposed to leave?
Masamune: Aki apperently uad to tell Yoshino something
(YN): oh. Alright I guess. any idea on what it may be?
Masamune: um.... Nothing comes to mind really

I nodded and resumed my music and continued walking to class with Masamune.

Aki's POV
Once the two idiots were finally out, I turned over to Yoshino, who was still sitting on the other side of the shed.

Aki: Yoshino, What do you like about (YN)?
Yoshino: Mm? What do you mean?
Aki: Why do you like him? What exactly?
Yoshino:... I like his person. He's sweet, kind, smart, modest, and often a dork and... He always tries to right a wrong.. I like it. Why?

I sighed quietly. Obviously she was leaving out a lot of details and keeping her answer short and simple. If she wanted to, she can just talk for hours about something she is passionate about.

Aki: because Masamune is... He is just being creepy.
Yoshino: how so?
Aki: he just... What he has been doing since the date is just... Ew. Staring at me, saying horrible one-liners, all that. It's... Creepy.
Yoshino: oh.. So you'd rather him leave you alone?
Aki: Yes! That's what I've wanted for a long time now!
Yoshino:... Is that really how you feel?

I leaned back and sighed to myself... How do I feel about it?... Sure, it's all creepy and stuff but... Is that how I really feel? I don't know..

Masamune's POV
Pacing around the park isnt something I normally do but now seemed like a good time to do it. School ended and it was a rainy day so I gave aki my umbrella and now I'm standing on the floor. I'm greatful that the rain ended a moment earlier. I leaned against a tree and sighed to myself. Where is Yoshino? She said she would meet me here so where is she?

Yoshino: Pigs foot
Masamune: AHHHH!!

I tripped over my foot and caught myself before I could hit the ground. I turned around and saw Yoshino standing behind the tree as she looked at me.

Masamune: Yoshino!
Yoshino: Pigs foot
Masamune: Why did you text me? Did something happen?
Yoshino: yes actually.
Masamune: Oh? What?
Yoshino: she said you're being creepy-
Masamune:...
Yoshino: Now, here is what I need you too-
Masamune: HOW?! I'm trying my best to be nice!
Yoshino: I know. That's why I want you to-
Masamune: What do I need to do?
Yoshino: just leave her alone until I say otherwise.
Masamune: um... What?
Yoshino: Yes. Leave her alone until I say you can talk to her
Masamune: How would that work?!
Yoshino: it would give her time to think about what you have been doing more clearly
Masamune: OR It could be a way for you to get me out of the picture!
Yoshino: have I been wrong so far?
Masamune:... No

She only nods as I remained slient. I seriously didn't want to risk it and screw over my plan. I sighed to myself and before I could respond, my phone suddenly started to get a call. I checked and realized that (YN) was calling me. I answered.

Masamune: Hey (YN), what's up?
(YN): Nothing really. I'm just bored and struggling with Homework and all
Masamune: what class?
(YN): (Least favorite subject). Why?
Masamune: I... Don't know a lot about that subject..
(YN): yea, but it's a project. Kojuro also needs help on it so we thought 'why not have you help us on this'. With all the homework and projects, Im starting to get overwhelmed
Masamune: Alright, I know Ill be able to help you and Kojuro tomorrow. Im sorta busy at the moment though
(YN): alright. Ill seeya tomorrow
Masamune: see ya

I ended the call and made a mental note to help Kojuro and (YN) tomorrow. Yoshino just looked at my phone as she brought out her own.

Yoshino: hey... You have (YN)'s number.. Right?
Masamune: Yea, he gave it to me back when I was trying to get numbers and emails..

I scratched the back of my head as Yoshino looked at her own phone.

Yoshino:... I'm going to ask him for his number then..
