Bump. Pause. Bump. Repeat.

Ben opened his eyes and stared at a sea of blue fabric. He moaned as he did every morning out of hunger and pain. The sea shifted and Benjamin blinked as the sun shone in his eyes. A face appeared, looking down at him. Light brown hair was framing the face. He screamed.

"Geh weg, schrecklicher Nazi, verschwinde von mir!" Ben gasped as he realized what he just said. He had told the man to get away from him. He closed his eyes, waiting for death. He opened an eye. Then the other. Leff was staring at him horrified.

"Hey kid, I'm not a Nazi. I ain't here to make you live in hell," whispered Leff.

Ben understood the words 'not' and 'Nazi'. He sighed and hugged Leff, crying softly. Leff glanced at Brett and smiled sadly. Brett shook his head and continued searching the area around them, the muzzle of his gun sticking out, ready to shoot at a moments notice.

Once again, BOOM BOOM BOOM!

The truck shuddered before tipping over. Leff and Ben tumbled out. Leff curled protectively over the by, taken most of the impact on his left shoulder. A group of Nazis were shooting at the truck, not realizing that Leff and Ben were out. A cry of pain rang out then silenced. Joe had been murdered.

"Wo ist der Junge?" snarled a Nazi. He was bleeding from his shoulder, coating his swastika in blood. Leff shot him in the head. Ben was shaking, his whole body trembling. He didn't want to go back.

Leff yelled in pain as a Nazi shot his legs and arms. Soon Leff and Brett were down. Where was Commander Jesse? Benjamin looked around then whimpered as he saw the broken bloodied form of Jesse.

"Junge, komm mit uns oder stirb ... und vertrau mir, du willst nicht sterben," said a big Nazi. He had blonde hair and cruel gray eyes. His gun was pointed at Ben. He did not want to die or go with the Nazis. Sighing he made his choice.

"Ich komme mit dir," whispered Benjamin.

The remaining two Nazis grabbed his arms and started walking, dragging the boy behind them.
