Twilight (Quil and Claire)

Chapter 3

~Quil's POV~

One of the council members was my grandfather. Everyone calls him Old Quil. We went to seem him and Billy Black, Jacob's dad.

Old Quil thinks that everything will turn out right. He thinks that the older she gets, the more my feeling will change towards her.

Billy thinks that I'll always think of her as no more than a sister until she's a teenager.

After meeting with the council, we went back to Emily's. Clarie and Taylor were playing with Seth and Leah.

Clarie noticed when I walked in and crawled over to Seth. "Who's dat?" she asked. Her voice ringing in my head.

It was more beautiful than anything I've ever heard. "That's Quil. And behind his is Embry and...well you know Jacob." She smiled "Unca Jay" she cried. "Hey kid!" Jake said casually.

I walked over and sat next to Seth. Clarie looked at me thoughtfully. I noticed everything about her.

How her eyes never looked dull. How her cheeks were took up most of her face. Besides the huge eyes.

She smiled at me. I smiled back. "Qwil" she said softly. Hearing her say that made me go cold.

Her voice was so high-pitched and pretty. My hands went cold and numb.

I had a grin on my face from ear-to-ear. From them on we were best friends.

I took her to the La Push beach a lot. She would play in the sand and dig for shells. She would always get in the water and get her clothes all wet.

I was always nervous she would get cold or get sick.

I never knew playing with a two year old could be so much fun. Maybe it was because of the imprinting.

Her mom seemed to like me. But I didn't mention I was a wolf and that I imprinted on Clarie.

I hardly ever left Clarie except when I came home to see my mom. And when Jacob asked me to go to Bella's graduation party.

He had kissed Bella and her and her leech were pretty pissed about it. Jacob wanted me and Embry to come with him incase he needed us.

I finally agreed to go, although it was painful to be away from Clarie for so long.

When we arrived at the leeches houses most everyone was already there. Jacob didn't bother knocking.

Right when I stepped in my nose wrinkled. It smelt so bad. It didn't seem to bother Jacob to much.

Right away, Jacob spotted Bella. He moved towards her fast.

Me and Embry walked behind him. Jacob and Bella talked over what had happend and Jacob apologized.

I stood there very awkwardly. So did Embry.

Jake gave her a present he made her. It was a wolf charm.

After standing there for a while, Something caught Bella's eye. She stared past us at the stairs.

One of the leeches was frozen in the steps starring into space. "I'll be right back" Bella whispered.

But of course, Jacob follows. "Alice, what is it?" Bella asked. "The decisions been made" Alice replied. "Decision? What decision?" Jacob asked, impatiently. "The Volturi.....they're coming here".

I didn't know who the Volturi was but I knew it couldn't be good.

Alice stood froze, her eyes wandering around.

Bella sighed. "Where's Edward?" she asked.

"Upstairs. Second door to the right." Alice told her.

Bella pushed past her and quickly ran upstairs.

Jake didn't hesitate. He followed her right on her heels.

Embry and I looked at each other and shrugged. We followed Jake and saw the rest of the Cullens in the room.

Alice came in after us, locking the door behind her.

Carlisle looked confused as to why Bella and three werewolves had came up here. Jake sighed heavily.

"Alice? What's going on?" Carlisle asked her.

"The Volturi. They're coming here." she repeated.

A few of the vampires gasped.

What the hell was the Volturi?
