New VS old PJO

I was thinking about how my PJO has changed, especially in the sense of diversity. Back in my day, we didn't have representation, just white straight characters, and I think it's so great how there's so much more diversity nowadays.

Like when I got into Percy Jackson, it was all Nico x Self insert Poseidon daughter like??

And we did have the trio, and I'm pretty sure everyone pictures Grover with dark skin, but that wasn't the case when I started reading them. Idk man, I really love how it's grown.

I mean we got ourselves Native American Piper, African American Hazel, Latino Leo, gay Nico, Transgender/Genderfluid Alex, Pan Magnus, and a bunch more!!

I really respect Rick for that.

I was also going back to read the original PJO series and they're so bad haha, like they're good for middle school/elementary school reading but now that I'm in High school, and have been for awhile, they aren't as good.

I think Rick crushed the second series, and are good for all ages, especially his new series too, and he's improved a lot as a writer.

Anyways just some random thoughts haha!!

Have a great day!!
