Chanel’s P.O.V

I waved goodbye to my mother as she drove away and left us there in front of the entrance. None of us dared to step in first. I looked over to both of them and gave them a look. “Well come on, we gotta go in there eventually.” I said and slung my duffel bag over my shoulder while taking a step forward.

“Might as well just go.” Jesse said and started to step forward as well, with Rikki following close behind.

We walked for quite a while before we found site of any cabins or any sign of people. All we saw ahead of us was a long dirt path and a forest around us. And more dirt path and forest.

Wasn’t long before Jesse eventually gave up and threw her duffel bag to the floor, falling on it. “I. Don’t. Think. I’ll. Make. It.” She said in between breaths.

Rikki started panting and let her bag fall to the floor as well. “I second that.” She didn’t hesitate to put her long orange-blondish hair into a ponytail and then wipe some sweat away from her forehead. “I think your mom parked in the wrong place because as far as I can see, there’s like 20 miles still ahead of us now and I’m pretty sure I dropped a lung like 5 miles back.”

Jesse buried her head in her bag and raised her finger. “And I think I’ve lost all feelings in my legs. Permanently.”

I was about to reply to them until I saw a sign in the corner of my eyes. I squinted my eyes a bit, trying to read the sign and I slightly gasped when I read the sign. “Umm guys, do you see that sign?” I asked as I pointed to the sign.

Rikki turned her head to face the direction my finger was pointing at and also squinted her eyes to see.

“I’m not moving at all.” Jesse groaned, with her head still buried in her bag.

Rikki finally was able to read the sign and was a little shocked by it. She read out loud:

‘Camp Lakewood, California’s #1 all boys’ camp right ahead.’

Jesse’s head shot up faster than you could blink. “BOYS?!”

“Well someone finally decided to move.” I muttered.

Rikki still had her jaw slightly to the floor, still trying to take in what she just realized. “So we’re going to an….all BOYS summer camp?”

“Pshh, you say it like it’s a bad thing.” Jesse scoffed and turned around so that her back was now against her duffel bag on the floor. “We’re teenage girls going to a SUMMER CAMP full of boys. And you know what that means. Hot summer nights of those boys walking around shirtless.”

Rikki kicked Jesse’s leg softly and chuckled. “You are insane.”

“But you know I’m right!”

I shook my head and tried to see how far we still had to walk before we saw any campsite. I let out a small sigh of relief when I realized that I saw some sort of cabin in the distance. “Well we’re getting closer. I think I can see a cabin somewhere close by.”

“HALLELUJAH!!” Jesse exclaimed and tilted her head back a bit.

I looked down at my watch and realized it was almost 10:30. “oh gosh, we gotta get to the camp grounds before 10:30 because they have some sort of ‘Intro Meet & Greet’ going on then.”

“Are you serious?!” Jesse exclaimed and shot up. “Well come on chicas, I wanna go meet and greet some boys!”

Rikki grabbed her bag from the ground and shook her head. “Jesse, you seriously need to-“
