Sam's POV

The next day my alarm woke me up. Let me just say, it was the most awful feeling in the world getting up that morning. I knew I had to, thought. So I groggily rolled out of bed and retrieved my uniform from my closet.

The way I got ready in the mornings was weird, but honestly I was so used to it it seemed normal. First, I put on my clothes. The colors of my uniform were so ugly, but hey, at least I don't have to worry about fitting in or not. After I got dressed, I went and did everything I needed to do in the bathroom including brushing my hair and teeth, washing my face, and applying my makeup. Once I thought I looked presentable enough, I walked downstairs and slipped my shoes on.

I was ready to go.

The drive to school felt like forever. Maybe it was because I was nervous or there was more traffic on the first day. Either way, it was miserable. But I made it eventually.

When I pulled up to the building, it was this terrible grey-ish brown color that reminded me of a prison of course. There were a lot of windows but it looked gloomy. The parking lot was overflowing with shitty cars because what high school student can afford a good car, right?

Trying to find a parking spot was very stressful. I ended up parking by this guy who looked like a stoner and had probably one of the ugliest cars I've ever seen. It looked to be at least 20 years old and was completely rusted, all the windows missing. On the inside, the seats were torn up and worn to the point where the guy had to strap cushions to the seats to make it seem like there was an actual seat.

I grabbed my bag from the backseat of my car and made sure to lock the doors as I walked away. The closer I got to the school, the more I noticed how group-y people were. It seemed like everyone had a group of friends who stuck together. It wasn't like schools in America where you could slip your way in with an outcast. There were no outcasts here.

Students immediately turned when they saw me walking. Maybe it was my pale-non-Aussie skin, or how I didn't have any friends, but they all noticed me. I stood out like a black dot on a white page.

Forcing myself to continue walking, I made it inside. Luckily for me, I had recieved a map of the school so I wouldn't have to look like an idiot to everyone else. Apparently everyone here had known each other for a long time. The stares didn't stop. In fact, their whispers stood out more.

New girl?

Who do you think is gonna get in her pants first?

Umm, who the hell is that?

New girl.

Hot.

Ew, who's that?

I just kept my head down and continued to walk to my first class, which happened to be history. My schedule went like this: history, english, art, free hour, math, lunch, science, music.

Finally, I reached the history room. There was a few empty seats and on the board was a seating chart. My seat was next to a boy with a very dark complexion. He wasn't ugly but he wasn't cute. According to the seating chart, his name was Julian. On the other side of me was a girl named Kayla, but she wasn't in the classroom yet.
