Arrangements were made for Sasha to live with Bayley exactly after they graduated high school. Bayley’s parents bought her a small modern house as a graduation gift. They were both now, twenty - three years old and lived in the house now as ‘possible lovers.’ Bayley knew it was the anniversary of her mother’s death and wanted to take her out to keep her mind cleared.
Sasha came down the stairs and Bayley’s cheeks turned red and her face was hot.
“Umm.. are you wearing anything under that?” Bayley asked Sasha who wore an extremely oversized sweater.
“Yeah, of course.” She says raising it up to reveal shorts underneath the sweater. “Why?” she asked smiling and Bayley smiled back looking down at the ground.
“No reason.” Bayley whispers and she hands Sasha a box. In the box there was a book, ‘Everything, Everything’ by Nicola Yoon. Sasha’s face lit up and she spun around, pulling Bayley unto a tight hug.
“I know how bad you wanted to read it.. ” Bayley says slightly rocking on the heels of her feet . Sasha noticed the highlighted, neon green sticky note. Her hand went to reach for it but, Bayley stopped her. “No. You have to read chapters everyday for a surprise. Up until the end of the book..”
Sasha smiled and hugged Bayley, “Thank you so much. You’re the best.” Sasha says hugging Bayley again.
“Later, we'll go out okay?” Bayley says and Sasha nods. She often enjoyed leaving the house because she would be able to spend time with Bayley and keep those voices and hallucinations away.
That day they went out shopping and for ice cream. Sasha was content and didn’t really enjoy the day simply because she was reading the book.
She ended chapter one and read the first sticky note, ‘You’re my best friend and I love you. Always.’
Sasha smiled and thanked Bayley before telling her she loved her right back. Sasha yawned as they were on their way home. The sun was setting beautifully on the horizon, giving the clouds an pink, orange and yellow color. Beautifying the sky even more than it already was.
“Yeah. Being beautiful must be tiring.” Bayley said not taking her eyes off the road for a moment.
“Then, you must be exhausted.” Sasha replied and Bayley’s cheeks got hot again.
“Please.” Bayley answered in a sarcastic tone before focusing her eyes back on the road. It had been about thirty more minutes until they arrived at home.
Bayley pulled up into their driveway, and looked over at Sasha who was fast asleep. Bayley didn’t want to wake her so, she went around and picked Sasha up bridal style and took her inside.
Bayley managed to change her clothes and cover her up without waking her up. Bayley took care of Sasha as if they were married or dating. She stated at sleeping Sasha for a second before walking out of the room.“Yes. I’m okay... she’s doing fine. Yeah, no I haven’t asked yet.” Bayley spoke into the phone closing the crimson velvet box that held a diamond ring. “It’s scary but, I got it.” Bayley said before pushing the box back into her pocket.
It's been so long. But, here you go. Hope you all enjoyed this chapter.
