Everest had just arrived to the Lookout and Skye was already in the yard to say hello. It didn't seem like it, but it had been over a month since the last time they saw the Husky pup, since that occasion when that storm had everyone busy in rescue labors, mostly Everest, to search through the snow, Skye, to spot any lost skiers, and Marshall, to take care of the injured ones.

Skye raced towards Everest and hugged her. "Everest! I missed you so much! How are you? How long are you staying? Oh my gosh, there's so many things I gotta tell you."

Everest chuckled at how hyped her friend could get. "I missed you too, Skye." she answered. "Well, Jake is gonna be out for some time, so I thought about visiting you guys.

"Where is he going?"

"He's back on his research, the South Pole. He couldn't even start last time, remember?" she spoke, quite nostalgic. "I guess I didn't want to return there... too many things I don't wanna remember."

Come to think of it, Everest lived alone through tough times. "Don't think of it, it's in the past. We're here for you."

"It's true, let's not think of it." Everest smiled back. "Thanks, I needed that."

At the same time, Chase and Marshall had just arrived to the front yard.

Yep, Everest is here. Wow, it's really been a while since the last time we've seen her-

Chase's thoughts were interrupted when Marshall ran towards Everest. "Hi Everest!" Marshall being Marshall tripped with a toy that was conveniently lying in the middle of the yard and was sent bouncing in the grass couple of times before stopping right in front of the girls. "Ehm, hi?"

"Hehe, hi Marshall." said Everest between giggles.

Chase watched in the distance as he approached to them. He seriously doesn't know how to hide his crush on her.  And Chase sure was one to talk, since everyone already knew about his own crush on Skye. Never mind that, that talk they had upstairs was repeating in his head.

Am I being paranoiac? Probably. But it's not like he was willing to tell me, so he must be hiding something. He continued in his monologue. No, I'm going crazy. There's no way he's having a secret romance or anything, right-?

"So for how long are you staying?"

"As I was saying to Skye. Jake's gonna be gone for a while, so I'll probably could stay here for a few weeks, maybe?"

Few weeks...

Few weeks...

Few weeks... AAAHH! He is! He is hiding a secret relationship! With Everest!

"That's great! We're gonna have so much fun with you here!" said Marshall, wagging his tail.

"Ow, I just had the best idea ever! Let's have a pajama party tonight to celebrate!" exclaimed a very excited Skye.

"Woah! I didn't expect that welcoming, but great! I'm looking forward to it!" mentioned Everest, also very happy.

Chase was totally concentrated in the conversation and in the importance of it. Skye looks pretty when she's happy- No, wait! Concentrate! Marshall didn't tell me, his best friend, about his secret relationship with one of our friends!

Chase sure knows how to build up a story out of nowhere.

"Marshall!" exclaimed Chase.

"Uh? What's the matter?"

"Can we talk for a sec?" asked the Shepherd, with a quite odd expression.

"Sure, what's up?" Marshall answered happily, pretty much because of the news about Everest. Chase placed a paw in his shoulder.

"In private." He said, dead serious.

"Uh, sure...?" The dalmatian answered, rather confused than scared of his friend's attitude.

"Very well, let's talk over there." The Shepherd continued, pointing with hai paw to the big oak tree next to the playground.

"Okay." Marshall just shrugged it. "Bye girls. Oh, and Everest, if you need anything just call me!"

Call... He's just bragging about it now.

"U-Uh, I mean, call us! Yes, call one of us!" Stuttered the pup with red cheeks.

"Hehe, I'll keep it in mind."

With that, Marshall and Chase turned around and made their way to the tree. Both females seen the pups leave decided to go up to the Lookout. After all, Skye had some things to tell Everest about. Entering the elevator, they directed to the control room. The Cockapoo watched silently how Everest directed her view to where their partners were walking to, with certain glitter in her eyes that she knew very well.

Silence. Awkward silence is all the two best friends shared while walking together to the oak tree. Chase noticed how Marshall looked back at times too steal a glance of Everest, thing that the Shepherd usually does with Skye when no one is watching him, but felt odd to see someone doing it. They sat under the shadow of the oak tree, the fire pup decided to take the word.

"Ok Chase, here we are. What are you so mysterious abou-?"

"Why didn't you tell me about you and Everest?" Chase whispered aggressively, to make sure no one could hear what they were talking about. Marshall's eyes opened widely immediately.

"Wait, w-what?!"

"Stop acting like you don't know what I'm talking about. It's so obvious!" continued Chase, walking back and fort in front of the Dalmatian. "First, I heard you talking with a mysterious someone, you told her 'love you too' and something about staying here for a few weeks. It's too much coincide that Everest is staying here for the same amount of time!" shouted the gossip pup, as his friend looked at him with a poker face.

"But what really bothers me is the fact that you didn't tell me anything about it!" Chase finished. Marshall was stunned, but still firm, like what the other pup was saying wasn't affecting him at all.

The spotted pup started with a sigh. "Chase, listen, it's not what you thi-" but he was interrupted again.

"I thought we were best friends! That we could tell us everything, that we could trust in each other! But it seems like it doesn't matter to you anymore." At this point, Chase was almost in tears. Marshall was used to the drama queen his friend could be sometimes, but now was getting annoyed at how Chase wasn't letting him explain a thing.

"Chase, let me explain it to you. Just let me-" But again, Chase interrupted him once more.

"I even told you about my crush on Skye! And you couldn't even tell me about you and Everest?! I just can't believe you didn't tell me about something so serio-"

"CHASE, SHUT UP!" Marshall yelled, his veins about to explode in anger. Chase stood silent there, petrified. The fire pup began to breath heavily, then calmed himself, and finished sighing again.

" Chase, all you think you know is not true. Just let me explain it to you, ok?" Marshall said in a very calmed way, like when you put a baby to sleep.

"Ok... But tell me all the truth, please." said the crying baby.

"Don't worry, I will-"

*Beeping* PAW Patrol, to the lookout!

...

DAMN IT, RYDER!  thought Chase.

"Uhm, Ryder needs us," chuckled Marshall. "Well, I promise Chase, I'll tell you all the truth, but later." Said Marshall running towards the lookout.

"But, But, Ahhh..." And with that, both pups ran to the lookout.
