From the cheers I can hear upon entering the Red Keep I assume Joffrey is celebrating his name day and spending all the money that the crown doesn't have. I took my sweet time coming to Kings Landing so I ran into Tyrion on the way here.

Tyrion and I stride into the courtyard that Joffrey has planned his celebrations in. Beside him sits a very sad Sansa Stark. Gone are her dreams of a valiant prince come to save the day.

"Oh hello Myrcella, you have grown! You are already as beautiful as mother. And Tommen! Why, you must have doubled in height since I last saw you. Keep this up and you shall soon be towering above us all. The new Duncan the Tall" the both smile happily and jump up to hug me. "I hope you are having a good name day Joff"

"I was, but then you arrived. Kneel before your king" He sneers. I hate him.

"It would be an honour your grace" I kneel for a moment before standing up again. I see tyrion is greeting Myrcella and tommen. "My lady, I am sorry for your loss. I congratulate you on your brothers victory at the whispering wood"

"All her family are traitors, who should she care if they are dead?" Joffrey asks with his stupid whiny voice.

"But yet her family is still her family. And her father was a good man.."

"A traitor!"

"But still a good man, he was a better man than you will ever be. Sansa, w use you like to leave this lame party and go chill?"

"She will stay here!" Joffrey demands.

"Of course," I smile falsely at him. "Where's Arya?"

"My sister ran away the day my father was imprisoned," Sansa says gloomily. I walk away from the crowd with Tyrion beside me and Bronn and the mountain clans behind us.

"You know you shouldn't talk to Joffrey like that, he is the king after all" Tyrion says.

"He's an idiot, and if he isn't careful all our heads will be mounted beside Ned Starks. Anyways, I think you have some work to do. I'm going to go and get cleaned up. See you later."

I sit down with Sansa opposite me and sigh. I just spilt wine on the skirt, luckily it is red so the wine blends in.

"So Sansa, how has my brother been treating you?" I ask.

"Uh, um, he is very brave and smart and, um, valiant" she responds, looking at her lap.

"Listen to me Sansa. I know what he is. I know that he is a monster and I swear to do whatever is in my power to stop him hurting you. If he ever hurts you please come to me. You don't deserve this. My father and your father were great friends, I would like for us to be friends as well. If you feel you cannot be friends with me because of what my brother has done then that is alright."

"Thank you your grace." I can easily tell Sansa is lying.

"I'm going to tell you a little bit about how to survive here. One, there are spies everywhere, in the walls, in the shrubbery, listening to what you say and watching what you do. Two, if you trust anyone, you die. Your father trusted Petyr Baelish and look where it got him. Three, learn how to lie convincingly. Four, praise Joffrey to the stars and it might earn you a little respite." Sansa looks terrified. "Sorry if I frightened you. You will understand what I mean soon enough. Also, your handmaiden is a spy, all handmaidens are my mother's spies. So if you meet someone who doesn't know my mother then keep them close. Now, let's talk about something happier. What would you like to talk about?"

"I don't really talk nowadays. And all my friends are dead" Sansa replies.

"What do you do every day then?"

"Usually I have to be in the throne room while king Joffrey is there, and then I pray"

"What do you pray for? you do not have to answer if you wish not to" I take a bite of one of the lemon cakes.

"I do not wish to say your grace"

"Very well, and please call me Morgana. We shall be sisters once you have bled. You are very lucky not to have bled yet. I first bled when I was eleven. I thought I was going to die" I snort at the memory. "Do you want to go to Casterly Rock some time? Joffrey wouldn't be able to touch you there, it is very beautiful around this time of year."

"You would do that?"

"Of course. Have you seen the dragon skulls yet?"

"No your grace."

"Come on then, let's go exploring." We spend the rest of the day looking at the skulls. I succeed in taking her mind off of her father's death which is good. Now I just have to figure out how to get Joffrey to calm down a bit.
