I skulk outside the dining room, debating on whether to bail out or not. I should probably go in.

"good evening, thank you for joining us sweetheart" mother says once I enter the room. Myrcella, Sansa and Tommen are already there.

"if Joff not coming?" I ask, taking my seat. Joffrey would always come to the weekly family dinner when father was king, father rarely came.

"He is busy with his duties" mother replies and takes a very large gulp of wine. I bite back a few snarky comments.

"when will Joffrey and Sansa be married?" Myrcella asks.

"Soon. after the war has been won" mother says, giving Myrcella the smile she reserves only for Jamie, Tommen, Joffrey and Myrcella.

"if we win," I add, watching Sansa closely. She looks miserable, but then again who isn't miserable these days?

"mother says i'll have a new gown for the ceremony and another for the feast, but yours will be ivory since you are the bride." Myrcellas comment is met with silence.

"the princess just spoke to you" mother

"pardon your grace. i'm sure your dress will be beautiful Myrcella. I am counting down the days till the fighting is done and I can pledge my love to the king in sight of the gods."

"will Joffrey kill Sansas brother?" Tommen asks.

"well he wont do it himself thats for sure, have you seen him with a sword? the young wolf could have a tourney blade and joff valyrian steel and sansas brother would still win," i sip some of my wine in the same fashion as mother does. It is a rich arbour gold that makes me want to wince. Mother has a,ways loved the strong stuff.

"You sound like you might join their cause morgana" mother has that irritated smirk on her face.

"Well I daresay he is a lot more sensible than joff"

"Joffrey is your king. Do not insult him" mother hisses. "would you like Joffrey to kill Robb?" she asks Tommen in a much sweeter tone.

"no."

"But nevertheless, Sansa will do her duty and marry Joffrey. Won't you, little dove?"

"yes your grace" Sansa replies. The evening passes slower than usual. It's so slow it's painful. Eventually the dinner is over and I can go back to my chambers and laze around before finally falling asleep.

In the morning Joffrey calls an audience. I didn't intend to go but I found myself in that part of the castle so I decide to pop in for a few minutes. The sight my eyes are greeted with shocks me. Sansa is kneeling on the ground begging for mercy while ser Meryn beats her.

"stop this madness at once!" i yell. "someone give Sansa something to cover herself." Sandor rips off his white cloak and hands it to Sansa.

"what kind of knight beats a helpless girl?" Tyrion asks Joffrey, he walked in with me and is just as shocked as I am. "certainly not the type of knight you want on your kings guard. lady Stark is your future wife, do not treat her with stupidity"

"I was punishing her for her brothers actions" Joffrey proclaims to the court.

"you halfwit. Robb Stark is miles away fighting a war that you started therefore it is not Sansa's fault" i hiss.

"I AM THE KING, I CAN DO AS I LIKE" Joffrey bellows.

"the mad king did as he liked, has your uncle Jamie never told you what happened to him?" Tyrion asks and i go to Sansa.
