Captain America: Civil War

Chapter 4: The Fight

My eyes shoot open as I wake up. I'm not dead because I feel pain. I also feel very cold, so I use my fire to heat myself up. I had no idea where I was, or who else might be here. But then I hear voices. Someone, to some people see having a conversation in the other room. I immediately summon my fire to my hand and walk in.

I saw it was Steve, Sam, and Bucky. "Thank God he's ok." I thought.  "Who was he?" Steve asked. "I don't know." Bucky answered. "People are dead. The bombing, the setup. The doctor did all that just to get 10 minutes with you. I need you to do better than "I don't know." Steve said, pressuring Bucky to remember.

I walked up, and Sam immediately turned around, "You ok?" He asked, and I nodded, and turned back to Barnes. "Bucky, listen. Is there anything he wanted to know?" I asked him, calmly. "He wanted to know about Siberia. Where I was kept. He wanted to know exactly where." He said, looking into my eyes. I then nod, but I back down after that. I knew exactly where he was going.

Oh shit.

My breath hitched, "Oh no, I know where he's going. No wonder he knew who I was." I thought to myself. "Why would he need to know that?" Steve asked. "Because I'm not the only Winter Soldier." He answered. I felt my head get light. I felt a chill go through me, either from the water or what memories he unlocked with that simple phrase.

*Flashback*

Five young men and a young woman sit up in hospital beds. The blue fluid is fed intravenously into their arms. The drip bags hang on stands beside them.They're all fit and muscular.

One woman, Josie , flexes a her bicep. She is screaming, dragged into a cell and left on a bed. Karpov is sitting at a desk in a corridor, making notes and listening. Karpov opens the door to a lab and switches on the light.

Josephine is sitting on a bed. She looks up at Karpov. "Ufunantoni!" She grumbled .

Bucky and Josie fight each other in a barred chamber. The four others who were given the blue liquid are there. Josie pulls Bucky's arm back, and he looks up at her, and gives a somewhat smile.

She gives a playful wink, and kicks him with enormous power, sending Bucky flying. medic takes her pulse and Josie  slams him onto the floor. A soldier clubs Josie onto the back with no effect.

. She flicked her wrist and a ball of purple mist forms in her hand, sending the soldier back.

*Flashback*

"Who were they?" Steve asked. "Their most elite death squad. More kills than anyone in HYDRA history. And that was before the serum." Bucky explained. "They all turn out like you?" Sam asked.

"Worse." He answered. "The doctor, could he control them?" Steve asked. "Enough." Bucky answered. I wanted to forget what that was like, but I couldn't if I tried. "Said he wanted to see an empire fall." Steve said.

"With them he could do it. They can speak 30 languages,  hide in plain sight, infiltrate, assassinate, destabilize, They can take a whole country down in one night. You'd never see them coming." I spoke up.

They all looked at me, "How did you know that?" Bucky asked. I looked down, and walked up to him "What have you done?" Bucky said me. I press my thumb to his head, "Tell me when you've seen enough." I say, and show him my memories.

He never told me to stop though, he saw all of them. "You- your the Lost Soldier." He says. I smiled at him, "Hello James." I said. He suddenly embraced me, with his one arm. I cried a bit, but I was happy he finally saw me. "They told me they killed you. They said you had been shot to pieces." He said.
