Elaine's P.o.v.
Oh great I'll be late again. Thought Elaine as she rushed through the halls of Hogwarts, hoping to get to potions on time. It was (of course) the only class she was ever late for considering Peeves, one of the castle ghosts, liked to block the short cut to potions. Elaine was taking an advanced potion class this year which happened to be with her brother Harry's class of sixth years. She scrambled through the door right behind Draco Malfoy. She had made it! Or so she thought.
"Ah late again Miss. Potter, That will be one week of detention." Sneered Professor Snape. Elaine began to protest, she had only come in a few seconds after Malfoy. But she saw no point in arguing.. Snape hated anyone with the last name Potter, and she shouldn't complain considering Harry had it worse. Looking around the classroom she realized there was only one empty seat.. Right next to Draco Malfoy himself. Elaine had never really talked to Draco, but considering she was Harry Potter's little sister, they were already unspoken enemies. As she saw Snape give her the death glare (a cue to take her seat) she quickly scurried to the only open seat and sat down without so much as glancing at Draco.Draco's P.o.v
Draco lazily strode into potions, knowing that Professor Snape wouldn't give him a detention, seeing as he never did, when a girl came rushing in behind him nearly knocking into him. Draco looked over his shoulder to see none other than the little Potter girl. Well...she wasn't exactly little anymore. Her long, Red hair fell in soft waves around her face, framing her green eyes beautifully. She was actually pretty cute, but pushing that thought aside Draco opened his mouth to yell at her for her clumsiness, when Snape beat him to it. Giving her a week of detention. She stood with a look of frustration on her face, as Draco continued to his usual seat in the back, where he had a table to himself. After receiving her detention the Potter girl looked nervously around the room for a seat. Her eyes fell on the one at Draco's table, and she quickly sat down without looking over at him. When she sat down a sweet smell of Lemons filled Draco's nose, reminding him of his favorite candy, Honeydukes Sherbet Lemons.Elaine's P.o.v.
Potions class seemed to go on FOREVER. Elaine tried to distract herself by absentmindedly writing on her hand or twisting her hair around her pencil. When they had to take their books out Elaine reached for hers just as Draco did, When their hand brushed against each other their eyes met for a split second, but Elaine quickly looked away, embarrassed that she might be blushing. When potions class was finally over Elaine was the first one out of the classroom, hoping to avoid her brother before he could make a comment on the seating arrangement."Knotted wand" muttered Elaine as she approached the Ravenclaw common room. Everyone had been surprised when she was not sorted into Gryffindor as Harry was, but Elaine knew that she was nothing like Harry really. Except for their eyes, they both had their mother's eyes. The common room was surprisingly empty, considering the last class of the day had just gotten out. Elaine didn't give it a second thought though. Shes was tired, and determined to get to the dining hall early so she could eat at least something before her first detention with Snape later that evening.
When she got to the dining hall it was barren with only the school prefects, who had to eat early. Elaine took a seat next to Hermione, who looked up from her book in surprise.
"Hey Elaine, what are u doing here so early?"
"I've got detention with Snape later, for being a few seconds late to class today." Elaine explained, as a plate of food appeared before her."Oh, well you wont have to worry to much. They've started giving the prefects detention duty. I don't know who's in charge this week, but you should pray you get one of the nice prefects." Said Hermione, glancing down at her book between bites of food.
"Oh great..." Mumbled Elaine. Twenty minutes later, Elaine walked into the Detention room to fine a few young Gryffindors, and One Hufflepuff girl Elaine didn't recognize. She walked down the row of table to the back corner and took a seat. When who should walk in, but Draco Malfoy, the Slytherin prefect.
Draco's P.o.v.
He tried not to but Draco couldn't help but to look over at Elaine. She was nervously twisting her hair around her pencil as she bit down on her bottom lip. My god she's adorable! Draco thought to himself. He could have gone farther to say she was even hot, but caught himself when he remembered who she was.. and who she was related to. Come on Draco! Why are you even thinking about her, shes just Potter's little brat of a sister! He scolded himself. As he reached for his book, the back of his hand lightly brushed against her's. A tingle went down his spine as their eyes met for a moment, but she shyly looked away quickly. When class was over Elaine picked up her books and rushed out of the classroom before Draco could even move. He took a deep breath and realized that the sweet smell of lemons still lingered behind her. He smiled to himself, as he grabbed his books and made his way back to the Slytherin dorms. When he opened the door to his dorm, Blaise was casually sitting on his bed reading a book on Quidditch strategies while eating a box of Bertie Botts every flavored beans. "Skipping classes again?" Question Draco, tossing his books onto his bed.
"Just couldn't pluck up the energy for Potions today mate. I've got too much homework to catch up on." Answered Blaise
"Of course you do.. and i can see that you're working hard on it." Draco mumbled "Well I have to get going to the dining hall.. Dumb prefect stuff"
"Have fun mate." Blaise said sarcastically, as Draco walked out the door.
Draco took a seat at the end of the Slytherin table in the dining hall. As much as Draco hated having to eat early, he didn't mind the quietness, and the alone time. He looked up across the great hall and noticed a Ravenclaw girl sitting at the Gryffindor table. It took Draco a moment to realize that it was Potter's little sister. Of course she's sitting next to Granger.. He thought to himself. Wait why do I care who she sits by?? Uggh Whatever, just stop thinking about her! He told himself.
When he was done in the dining hall, Draco went to check the prefect schedule and learned that he had detention duty for the week. "Ohhh fun..." He mumbled. When he walked into the detention room he saw the not so surprising group of young intimidated Gryffindors and a Hufflepuff girl. As his eyes drifted to the back of the class room he saw Elaine's green eyes staring at him in shock..and slight disappointment.
