Elaine's P.o.v.
She stared at Draco in disbelief. His silver blue eyes seemed to see right through her. She began twisting her hair with her pencil, and sank lower in her chair trying not to draw attention to herself.

"Ok so, for detention today we're going to be doing a few jobs with Hagrid in the dark forest today." Draco said, putting an emphasis on "dark forest" probably hoping to scare the first years. Elaine however just rolled her eyes, finding it slightly amusing that the first years looked like they were about to be sick. A few moments later they made their way down to Hagrid's cabin where he awaited them.
"Al righ', today we'll be lookin' around the forest for an important lookin' flower fer madam Pomfrey in the hospital wing. Y'all know it by its glowing petals, seeing as it glows righ' about this here time a' night. Alrighty then, why don't you all split inta' partners."
"Oh great.." Elaine panicked in her mind. Right away all the first years found each other, leaving her without a partner.
"Hmm alrigh' uh Malfoy, why dontcha' escort Miss. Potter as her partner for the evenin'? Said Hagrid. With a slight smirk Draco walked over to where Elaine was standing. He stopped just a foot away from her. "Alrigh' everyone split up inta' the forest now, and stay with yer partner. Yell if ya need help." Hagrid instructed with a wink. At this point the First years were shaking.

Elaine took off into the forest with Draco trailing behind her. After about 10 minutes of silence Elaine decided to break the ice. "So how did you get to be a prefect anyway?" She casually asked
"It's not hard. Especially when everyone in my house has the intelligence of a broomstick." He answered after a moment.
Elaine giggled at his remark "You make a valid point there." She said smiling. "What are you doing?!" She yelled at herself. "You can't be flirting with him."

A few more moments of silence and walking occurred before Draco pointed out a patch of the glowing flower they were looking for. "Oh, good eye." Said Elaine. "Good eye"??? She questioned herself, "the flower's fucking glowing.. God you are not thinking" Elaine began to walk towards the flower, when a tree root caught her foot. She went flying to the ground, but before she made impact strong hands caught her by the waist, pulling her back up. Elaine was now standing face to face with Draco, they were inches apart. Elaine could smell a slight scent of cinnamon coming from Draco, just enough to remind her of her grandmothers cinnamon cookies. "Uhh.." Elaine began to speak, but Draco beat her to it.
"Watch wear your going will you? Next time I might not catch you." He said quickly pulling his hand away from her waist.
"Right, sorry." She said snapping out of her daze. They turned away from each other and started gathering the flowers to bring back to Hagrid.

Draco's P.o.v
There she was. Sitting in the back, twisting her red hair. It took a moment for Draco to remember there were other people in the room. He quickly woke up from his daze and instructed them with what they would be doing that evening. "Ok so, for detention today we're going to be doing a few jobs for Hagrid in the dark forest." He said, attempting to scare the first years. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Elaine roll her eyes. "Bit of an attitude..I like that.." When they got to Hagrid's cabin he started to explain what they would be doing but Draco wasn't even listening. His eyes were fixed on Elaine. Her waved hair fell around her face perfectly, like her brother she had glasses but Draco noticed that she preferred to wear them on the top of her head rather than over her eyes, which was fine by him considering her eyes were mind blowing. They were a more intense green than Harry's were, with flakes of blue and gold in them. Draco jumped when he heard Hagrid say his name. ".....why dontcha' escort Miss. Potter as her partner for the evenin'?" Draco heard. This was his chance, he thought. With a smirk spreading across his face he walked over to where Elaine was. The scent of Lemons immediately flooded his mind, he wanted nothing more than to just hold her and breath in her sweet scent. "Alrigh' everyone split up inta' the forest now, and yell if ya need help." Instructed Hagrid
Elaine took off at a quick pace into the forest, Draco followed behind her. Time went by filled with silence "Just say something Draco! What's the worst that could happen??" He argued with himself. Then Elaine surprisingly broke the ice.
"So how did you get to be a prefect anyway?" She asked
"Its not hard, especially when everyone in my house has the intelligence of a broomstick." He smirked
Elaine quietly giggled the cutest giggle ever. "Uggh why does she have to be related to Potter??" Draco whined in his head.
"You have a valid point there." She answered. A few more moments passed before a glowing flower caught his eye. When the pointed it out they began making their way towards it. All of a sudden Elaine tripped on a tree root. Instinctively, Draco's arms went out to catch her. He pulled her up facing towards him. She stared at him blankly for a moment her eyes sparkling and filled with shock. "Uhh.." She began..
"Watch where you're walking will you??" Draco said quickly waking up from his daze. "Next time I might not catch you." He added.
Remembering that his hands were still on her waist, he quickly pulled them away..reluctantly not wanting to let go of her.
"Right. Sorry." She stuttered. As they made their way over to the flowers. They didn't say another word as they brought the flowers back to Hagrid then went their separate ways. After a long evening of detention, Draco collapsed on his bed, and attempted to fall asleep..too bad for him, his mind was wide awake.
