I'm so sorry that I haven't updated recently! I've just been very busy with school work.

f/c means favorite color

Soon after being found, Alter Ego was locked away.  The students considered him dangerous because they didn't know whether or not he could be trusted.  Though he was just a program, it still hurt.  Life was lonely for the program.

Chihiro knew that it would be hard for Alter Ego to keep going without friends, so he made him one.  It was another program that would install itself onto the same computer that Alter Ego was on.  It could sing like an angel and would provide company for him.

Alter Ego originally thought the new program was a virus.  He tried his best to get rid of it.  After a while, he gave up.  This new program was persistent.  Then, a figure appeared next to him.  It was dressed completely in f/c.  A small microphone was in his/her hand.

"Hi, I'm Y/N! Master gave me instructions to keep you company!"

Alter Ego stared at this new program.  Master? Did he/she mean Chihiro?  Did he really make a

program to keep him company?  He seemed like the type to think of others.

"I-I'm Alter E-Ego." he managed to stutter out.

The days that he had spent alone and in the dark had taken a toll on him.  The new program stared at him expectantly.  He closed his eyes.  He didn't want to look.  What if he/she left him just like the students did?!  He chose to ignore this intruder.

Y/N stared blankly at Alter Ego.  This wasn't how he was supposed to react. He was supposed to welcome him/her.  What was Y/N supposed to do?

Alter Ego continued to ignore Y/N.  In fact, Alter Ego barely acknowledged his/her existence. Y/N grew depressed.  As depressed as a computer program could be, anyway.  He/she would quietly sing to him/herself to pass the time.

The lyrics to these songs eventually became as dark and empty as Y/N was.  Alter Ego wasn't deaf to the dismal sound.  He couldn't gather the courage to say anything to him/her.  Until now.  He glanced at Y/N.

"Y/N, I-"

"Yes?"

"Nevermind."

He couldn't do it.  He couldn't apologize for leaving Y/N alone for so long.

Sorry it was so short. Thank you for reading!
