After spending the rest of the week cleaning, observing the new method of gardening I got myself into, and doing research on my free time, I finally had a day to start the second prototype. All I had to do was get all of my chores done by noon and I would have just enough time to get all the items needed and work until it's finished. That is, if I can finish it before dawn of tomorrow. The young earl and Sebastian are going away on business for the day so I won't have to worry about being quite as sneaky. I still need to be careful of Meyrin, she has a tendency to just pop up out of nowhere. I already had the supplies out in the garden house so I don't have to worry about that. I was so caught up in my own thoughts, I didn't notice the set of arms wrapping around my waste until they gave me a gentle squeeze. I jumped and immediately elbowed the stranger in the gut and grabbed the letter opener on the table. I raised the sharp object over my head with my eyes closed tightly.

"Y/N! After all this time of not seeing me, you attack your poor, worried father." Said the stranger in an overly dramatic way.

I opened my eyes to see my father sprawled out on the floor in the most theatric way possible. I sighed as I placed the opener into my apron pocket.

"Father, you gave me a terrible fright. You mustn't do that while I'm distracted." I giggled as I helped him off the floor.

Grell pouted very heavily. "Can't  a father come visit his daughter without someone trying to kill me?"

"Oh Father, still as dramatic as ever.  I missed you." I said while bringing him in for a tight hug.

He returned the hug immediately and with more force than I. We stayed like that for about 20 minutes before I realized I wouldn't get to work on my project if I didn't get my chores done.

"Father, this is great but I have to get back to work. How long are you back for?"

"I'm afraid I'm not even supposed to be here now. I snuck away."

"Father! William will have your head for this." I laughed out.

"But I had to come and see my dearest! I was worried about what that young brat had you to do."

"I assure you that Ciel is treating me well but that might change if I do not get my cleaning done. I promise you, Father, I will spend more time with you during your next, allowed visit." I smiled and kissed his cheek gently.

"Alright, I love you. Do change your outfit after i'm gone, not a hint of red on my ruby is a disgrace." Grell commented after kissing be on the cheek as well and jumped out the open window.

"Why can't he be normal for once?" I commented out loud before going back to my duties.

It took later than expected due to my Fathers visit but I still have enough time to hopefully make some progress on my prototype. I was making my way to the Garden house when I saw finny sitting right outside the door.

"Finny? What are you doing?" I asked when I saw him.

"Ms. Y/N, I was waiting for you at noon just like you said! Pardon my Enthusiasm." Finny said happily then embarrassed.

I giggled at him as I guided him into the building.

" I like your enthusiasm. Well then, lets get started shall we?"

It took all night and a little after day break, But we finished the second prototype.

"Okay, Finny. Try them on!" I said excitedly.

This time, instead of making the lenses then trying them on, I made different sample lenses out of different material that seemed to be the most comfortable on the eyes. We settled on a flexible plastic that I made from a book I found in the library. I soaked them in purified water before handing them to finny for testing.

Finny walked to the window where his reflection showed on the glass. I waited patiently as he put them on and adjusted them for comfort. once he turned around, he gave me the biggest smile I've ever seen.

"They work ,Ms.Y/N! Now we can give them to Meyrin, right?" Finny shouted.

I clamped my hand over his mouth immediately.

"Be quiet, Finny! The young master and Sebastian could be here any minute and we don't want them to ruin the surprise, now do we?" I whispered

I got a muffled 'right' in response. Once my hand was gone I returned back to the work table.

"No, Finny. It means we know what to make it out of. Now we have to get Meyrin's eye measurements and also coloring that matches the young master." I answered his previous queston.

"Why the young masters eye?"

"Because that's what she wants and that's what we need to make her happy. I just don't know how to compare the dye mixture to his without making it too obvious. A picture would be too dark and a quick glance isn't enough to go by."

A realization dawned on me a moment later. I gave out a very aggravated sigh.

"What's wrong, Ms. Y/N?" Finny asked.

I turned to him while leaning against the table.

"I'm afraid we are going to need the help of a certain butler." I said as I pushed myself upright and walked out of the garden house.

This is gonna be great, just great...
