The New Maid

Y/N was standing at the front door of Phantomhive manor with suitcases in hand and a sobbing father behind her.

"Y/N! Daddy is going to miss you terribly!" Grell sobbed on his knees while Sebastian came out to help with her bags.

"Father please, you're making a scene." Y/N whispered gently while stroking her dad's long red hair.

Grell looked into her with tear stained eyes.
"I know, but if only willie hadn't given me this work I could stay here and keep my precious Ruby safe."

"I assure you, Grell. Lady Y/N will be just fine. The young Master always keeps his word." Sebastian said kindly, usually, before disappearing into the manor.

Y/N took her fathers hands and helped him to stand. "I'm not a child anymore, I'm capable of keeping myself alive"

"But alive is not good enough! I want you to be alive and well, unblemished and strong, cheerful and happy!"

"Cheerful and happy are the same thing, Father." Y/N giggled.

" Even so! I hate to leave you here, my Ruby. I'll be able to visit but I cannot promise it will be often." Grell said as he caresses Your cheek.

You take your father's hand that was on your cheek and place a gentle kiss on the top.

"It's okay, Father. I understand why you have to go. I'll be okay. Now go, you will be late and William does not tolerate to tardiness very well."

Grell groaned with rolled eyes at the mention of William.

"I could care less about that stubborn hare. However you are very correct, I would be late if I don't leave now. Goodbye, my dear daughter. Don't be doing things that I wouldn't do!" He wiggled his finger in her face at the last statement.

Y/N giggled once more "Father, there's hardly anything you wouldn't do."

"Then don't do anything I would do, how about that?"
Without another word, the two embraced each other and Grell left for the long journey ahead. Y/N look at the direction her fathered disappeared in with a sigh.

"Pardon me." A velvety voice spoke.

You jumped slightly, not expecting the sudden presence of another. You turned your head to Sebastian who was standing with an obviously fake smile.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you. I have taken your luggage to your room, if you would be so kind as to follow me I will show you where it is, Lady Sutcliff."

"Mr.Michealis, do just call me Y/N. I'm not a noble nor do I like to go by such formalities. I am simply a maid." Y/N replied with a smile, approaching Sebastian who had been at the door.

"Very well, Y/N. Follow me."

Y/N and Sebastian made their way to the maids quarters where another woman with big round glasses was. Sebastian lightly knocked on the open door as to get the maids attention.

"Mey-rin, I would like you to meet Y/N. She will be the new maid and your new roommate for the year."

Mey-rin immediately shook my hand very enthusiastically .

"Hello,Ms.Y/N! You're very pretty, you are!"

Blushing, you shook her hand back hesitantly.

"Why thank-thank you,Mey-rin. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"I will leave you to unpack your belonging and dress into uniform. Once you are done, please meet me in the dinning hall for training." Sebastian informed and closed the door on his way out.

You turned you attention on the other maid.

"So, why does he fake smile all the time?"

Startled Mey-rin became very flustered.

"Well, you see...Mr.Sebastian is a very do it himself person and, well... He isn't... i-i...I don't know myself, I don't."

You laughed slightly at her flustered figure.

"That's not good at all. from what my Father told me, he deserves to truly be happy."

Without waiting for Mey-runs reply, you were dressed and out of the room to meet Sebastian.
