Hey Fellas,

Now I was skeptical about writing this chapter. I was not able to understand if I should make Aloysia go to New York already or not. But nonetheless, I must admit that I am happy with the outcomes. Hope u like it as well. U will see the male lead in either the next chapter or maybe next to next chapter. Let's see how things turn out.

And guys, please do vote. I need to know that u r enjoying it as much as I am enjoying writing it.

I have posted La vie en Rose above with English translation. Check it out once. It has got one awesome lyrics.

We heard the hushed clicking sound of a car parking, and immediately turned to find the watch striking 11:58. We immediately switched off all the lights that as silly as it sounds, we forgot to switch off.

"Oh chérie, we missed it. I think she has closed her shop. Let's not disturb her, she must be tired. Let her sleep properly, she has a flight to catch ." We heard dad say.

"Oh hush amour, Her flight is on Friday and she doesn't need any sleep today. Ta fille would be more than glad to have her father on her shop for dessert. "

Mom let dad open the door first. "Courty, Courty, Ange are you sleeping?" Dad called standing at the threshold and not moving an inch, therefore not letting mom enter.

"Chérie I think she has gone to the washroom or something. See, she is not responding, let's go."

"Oh hush. Will you even let me in or you just don't want to meet your daughter today?"

"Non, there is nothing like that. "

"Let me enter than." Mom huffed and dad moved immediately.

"SURPRISE!!!" All of us shouted at the same time and Parnell and Adde popped the party popper just near dad making him look like he has had a shower of confetti.

Dad laughed and hugged all of us, me and mom being honored first. "When you were small I used to pop these over you on your birthday parties, and now you are putting all these confetti over me!!" Dad exclaimed.

"Its okay dad, you still look cute." I said kissing his cheek.

"Come, lets cut the cake, I tried granny's recipe for your birthday cake. I hope you like it dad."

I had made a three tired cake, each tire having a different cake but all of them were from granny's special cake recipe book that she gifted me on my 14th birthday. First tier was dad's favourite, the grand Croquembouche. Despite a modern wedding, dad had insisted to have Croquembouche as his wedding cake and could not sleep for days until mom agreed to it. I usually add my touch it by adding a lot of ganache, chocolate drips or sugar flowers, but I kept it absolutely simple today, just the way granny had written in her recipe. Next was traditional French style Flaugnarde with a lot of blueberries. Mom had come to know about her pregnancy with Adde on the very day when grandpa taught her how to make his style Flaugrande. It has been a family favourite since then. Last was Dacquoise with toasted almonds. It is basically a meringue with finely grounded nuts, stacked and filled with cream and berries. It is one of the latest additions of granny's recipe book, and she tried it for the first time in my shop itself. More than dad, this cake has memories with me.
