Lubbock’s POV

Ame had killed Dr. Stylish but her appearance is so different. “So this is her trump card…” I breathed out.

The others stared at her; Ms. Najenda had a hardened look in her eyes as she looked at Ame.

I decided to break the silence. "Ame, good work; you can deactivate your trump card now."

She looked at us with those strange yet somewhat familiar eyes. A bloodthirsty grin cracked the surface of her lips. "My, my, my... what do we have here?" Her voice was eerie as she approached us. "Little Ame-chi made friends?"

Me and the others took steps back and away from the ice cage that held our comrade. Tatsumi looked at us. "What's wrong?" He asked.

"That's not Ame..." Leone hissed.

Mine then spoke. "Where's the real AME?!" She shouted.

"Fufufufu... Why, she's standing in front of you. Only she's... asleep at the moment. My name is Aquadox. I'm a God..."

The ice cage shattered and Aquadox approached us. "You all look so tasty..." her, or it's, grin was spine chilling and had a sharp sense of danger. “Which one should I-" its sentence cut and she jilted before falling unconscious, her body fading back to normal.

We looked up to see Chloe and her older brother. "What's going on?" They both asked in unison.

No One's POV

As Ame slept, the others carried her over to the Air Manta and arrived at the Marg Highlands. Susanoo built a house with the surrounding trees.

After a full day, and night, Ame finally woke up. “…Ohayō…” she mumbled whiles rubbing the sleep from her normal cyan eyes.

The others looked up from their food and moved their eyes to the girl kneeling on the couch.

“AME!”

“AME-NEE!”

“AME-CHAN!”

Lubbock, Leone and Tatsumi lunged at the girl and tackled her down to the floor from the couch. “ITAI!” Ame shouted and the three jumped off of her and kneeled in front of the girl. “Gomenasai!” they apologized in unison.

“How long was I out?” Ame asked after reassuring the three that she was perfectly fine.

Najenda was the one to answer. “You were out for a full day and one night.” Ame nodded and let out a deep sigh. “Well I hope you guys weren’t hoping to put me on an assignment today then. I'm utterly useless for the next day or two.”

It was silent for a few moments before the team erupted in surprise.

NANI?!

Ame's POV

The whole gang stared at me with confused shock, their eyes wide and mouths a jared. I let out a deep sigh and noticed two familiar faces. "Oh you two are back from your mission? Welcome back." The blonde girl and brunet boy bowed slightly and greeted me as well.

I turned my attention back to the unspoken questions. "Sigh... let me explain to you guys." I breathed out. "My trump card...technically wasn't what you guy seen." My voice was hoarse and dry from the long sleep.

"What do you mean?" Akame asked as she handed me a glass of water.

I took a sip to clear my throat. "My Teigu never truly accepted me as its master. It's actually been rejecting my body." The room fell utterly silent.

"Then how are you even still alive?" An amber haired girl asked me, numbing on a lollipop.

I looked at her and the tall male with horns on his head. "When I was younger a danger beast attacked me and my little brother." My breath was slightly shaky at the memory of the look of fear that was in Kai's eyes. "I managed to kill it with my wrist blades. We checked for any signs of poison in it and found none. My village was poor. So, Kai and I ended up eating the danger beast for dinner."

I looked down at my fisted hands, my hair curtaining my eyes. "Ever since I've hear the voice of the danger beast in the back of my mind—urging me to kill. I became immune to poison, but my brother only gained the speed of the beast."

"The night my village was whipped out for entertainment I stole a crystal vial—that contained this Teigu—from the shrine and chugged its contents." I didn't dear to look up and look then in the eyes. "It began to reject my body but I refused to die and with the help of the ability I gained from the danger beast, I now control Kōri no Ha but I can't active its trump card—Over Blood—without any side effects."

I finally look up. "The extract was made from the blood of an SSS-Class (triple-S-Class) danger beast that was highly inelegant and disgusted itself as a God to swindle and take advantage of the human villagers. It was the only one of its kind left when it was turned into an Extract Teigu."

The look on some of their faces were so priceless to the point that I found it hard to stifle a laugh, but I pulled through and somehow managed to hid my laughter.

The others soon left—once they were over their shock—and went to subjugate the area. It didn’t take them too long to return and boss praised them for their fast work. “The air is thin here. Having battles in a rough area…”

“You guys have leveled up quite a bit.” I finished boss’ sentence of praise and appeared behind Lubbock and Tatsumi. “Glad to see you guys didn’t let up on your training while I was gone!” I locked my arms around their necks and squeezed lightly.

“AHK!” They flung their arms around and tried to struggle out of the headlock I have them in.

Boss then redirected the attention to Chelsea, asking her what she thinks of Night Raid after apparently observing us for a month. “Yeah, you guys are strong. You're stronger than my last team.” She started. “But… mere strength isn’t enough to survive. I was reading your old records, but Sheele and Bulat, I'm sure they were great people but I think they're failures as assassins.” That brought the mood down to scorching flames.

The amber haired girl then stared back into the base. “If you don’t do something about that naiveté, I don’t think it’d matter if you had endless lives.”

I noticed Mine clench her fists, shaking angrily. “She pisses me off to no end.” She said between gritting teeth.

“As honest as ever, I see.” Boss commented.

I then spoke up. “Well, I don’t think she is entirely wrong to have an opinion. As long as those who they cared for believe in them and never forget who they truly were, I'm sure that is all that should matter.” Silence fell and Akame shot me a small smile.

Susanoo decided to change the subject and lift up the mood. “…let’s cook all of the beasts we’ve hunted.” We all stared at the mountain of common level danger beasts. “We should take care of our hunger first.” Akame agreed.

“You're seriously independent, too.” Mine commented, still holding onto a hand full of anger.

Later that night, I watch Mine, Tatsumi and Lubbock sitting around a fire outside. Mine seemed to want to get back at Chelsea for what she said about Sheele and Bulat. Shaking my head I pretend I didn’t see them and closed the curtains.

I walked over to the couch and sat down next to Chloe and her older brother, Blake. “So how have the two of you been?”
