Ame's POV
As my body fell through layers and layers of clouds, I lazily formed my ice dragon, a tiara of water forming at the crown of my head.
"A future queen to a broken kingdom, how sad is thy fate!" Aquadox playfully said.
"Quit with the melodrama and let's just go see an ‘old friend’." I sighed, the ice dragon flying towards the capital.
Reaching the capital, I entered the palace with ease—not being noticed by any of the guards. ‘So much for palace security…’Strolling casually into the throne room, I found the king with the minister standing be his side.
I stood before the two and bow downed on one knee, my eyes closed and a gentle smile gracing my lips. “I have returned.”
I could feel the shock radiating from the two. “Ame… welcome back…” The minister welcomed as I stood once again, after the king ushered me to do so.
“It is good to be back, minister.”
“Call me father; you will have to call me that someday soon anyways.” The Minister laughed.
Just as he finished his sentence, a maid walked in with a box. “Minister-sama, this came in for you from your wife.” The maid spoke with a tone of respect.
“Thank you, and please take Ame to the spare guest room.” Honest ordered, as he took hold of the box from the tray the maid was holding out to him.
I followed the pink haired maid out the room and into the halls. As we walked in silence, the familiar whistle of an old… acquaintance sounded from behind us after we passed the intersection of another hall. “Well, well, well… never thought I’d see you roaming the palace halls again.”
I turned and my cyan eyes were graced with the sight of a well-toned male with white hair and green eyes. “Hello Syura, it has been a long time. You weren’t cheating on me whiles I was absent from you side, were you?” I narrowed my eyes at the taller male from my past—giving him a suspicious gaze.
He simply chuckled and placed his large hand on my cheek. “Of course I have. But only one-night stands.” He gave me a mischievous grin.
Sighing, and not truly caring, I pinched the back of his hand and held it away from my face. “How’d I ended up being stuck with you as my betrothed is beyond me…” I bitterly muttered through gritting teeth.
Pulling his hand away from me, with a slight wince of pain, Syura half glared at me. “Well we were arguing like usual, as childhood ‘friends’, and father insisted that we looked like a couple arguing and I made a joke and asked you for your hand and father took it seriously and now we’re stuck with each other.”
“So in conclusion, it’s your fault; as always.” I sighed and ignored the death glare that was being pointed at me.
The maid looked between us with a worried expression so I gave her a reassuring smile. “Miss maid, why don’t you have a seat there and watch as I kick this disloyal fiancé of mine’s butt.” I more along the line ordered then asked.
She blinked her golden eyes before sitting down on the hallway chair I was pointing too.
I stepped onto the green grass area and sent a mocking smirk in Syura’s direction. “Hope you have a doctor on stand-by.”
“Yeah, for your sorry ass.”
We both stood a few meters apart, glaring each other down. “No Teigus, just hand-to-hand combat.” I said and he simply grunted in a response as a ‘yes’.
All was still for a few silent moments before I shifted my back foot and launched myself at him, fists at the ready.
Syura blocked my kicks and punches with his forearms and even sent some of his own punches, only for me to block his attacks as well.
‘Seems like we’ve both improved at about the same amount… For now…’
Just as I ducked to avoid his swinging arm, I slammed my two palms into his chest—wrists against each other. He fell over and I quickly sat on his torso, my right hand holding out two fingers at the ready to jab his eyes out and my left hand around his neck—ready to push my thumb down on his adam's apple.
“I win again.”
