"I was walking towards you actually," I told him.
"Hmm. And why would that be," he asked with a knowing look in his eyes, which are a deep brown.
"Because my friend told me I had to get back on the field and-," I hesitated and looked up at him. "Why am I telling you this?"
"Maybe because you find me extremely handsome and You can't help but tell me your life story," he replied, smiling.
"Ahh, you are cocky."
"Only when I want to be," he stated, winking. "Or maybe you're telling me because you need someone to talk to and say the right things to make you feel better."
I looked straight at him and opened my mouth to speak, but nothing came out. He just stared back, watching me think about how perfect he just put those words.
"I didn't get your name," I stated once I cleared my thoughts away.
"Miles. And yours?"
"Catherine."
"Pretty name for a pretty girl," he said, smiling again.
"You're being cocky again"
"I dont call it cocky; I call it confident."
I laughed and he held out his hand. I looked at him questionably.
"Your phone," he stated. "Give it to me."
I obeyed and handed it to him. He took it and pressed some buttons and handed it back.
"I'll talk to you later," he said. He looked at me and then walked away.
I turned and watched him leave. He just walked away from me. I slowly walked back over to Madi with a dazed look on my face.
"I think I succeeded," I said soflty.
